First of all my name is Joel and I am bringing my beautiful fiance Margie to be with me. She is from the Philippines and I am from the US. I sent my I129f on November 22nd, 2011, got my NOA1 on November 29th (hard copy 12/5/11), and my status update has been 12/5/11 ever since then. Yesterday, 3/18/11, my case status was updated as my date changed to 3/18/11 but when I look at my case it is still on "initial review". Is this a case of being "touched"? Is this an indicator of something? What does everyone else know about this?

ps... I sent my I129f to the Texas S.C. but I received my NOA1 from the California S.C. so I am not sure which service center I am actually being "serviced" through.

We didn't get any touches until our status changed online, and lots of people get "touched" 3 or 4 times and still wait 5 months for their NOA2s.

Anyway, about your question, everyone is supposed to submit their petitions to Texas, where they're sorted (presumably by the residence of the USC) and forwarded on to either Vermont or California. No K1/CR1/IR1 petitions are processed in Texas.

April, 2009 - We met

May, 2009 - We wooed

June, 2010 - We got engaged, looking forward to a small August 2010 wedding

** Reality Check: K-1 Process**

July 22, 2010 - NOA1

**5 months of patient waiting**

December 29, 2011 - call around for information about delay

January 5, 2011 - RFE notice (first online status update yet!)

January 10, 2011 - RFE Hardcopy

January 13, 2011 - RFE Response acknowledged

January 24, 2011 - NOA2 (at last!!)

February 3, 2011 - application sent from NVC to Montreal (aka. the Abyss?)

March 7, 2011 - Packet 3 sent to me

March 10, 2011 - Packet 3 delivered to Montreal

March 21, 2011 - Packet 4 sent to me

April 5, 2011 - Medical

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

May 9, 2011 - POE (Buffalo, NY)

May 10, 2011 - wedding :)

My status still says initial review and I am at the interview stage. As you have read, many people never get touches through the whole process. We had 2 touches. Once when it was moved and the other when the approval came shortly after. Good luck! I hope you receive good news shortly :-)

touched could mean many things. It could mean they are just moving your petition from one file box to another or too and adjudicators desk. sometimes it means they are getting ready to work on your petition. some people get no touches between their NOA1 and NOA2 so it really has no official meaning.
