Hi Guys,

This is my first post here. I spent the pst few hours reading and I feel I need some clarification. I have applied for my spouse an I-130 last year and it got approved. The file now is at NVC. Recentely I become a US citizen and in the process of upgrading my spouse I-130. My spouse is outside USA.

1- I reviewed the process for CR1/R1 and want to know an estimate of timelines for my case. I understand that my spouse and I will need to receive ans submitt back some forms, How long does it take NVC, after receiving the forms, to send the package to the Embassy?

2- does the FBI name check process applies to these kind of applications?

thanks

Hi,

When i called the NVC about how long it will take them to send my case to the embassy in Pakistan they told me 2 to 4 weeks, in fact, they told me it takes two to four weeks for everything, processing the AOS, the Visa Application form, and sending it to Islamabad pakistan, Us embassy....

It never hurts to call the NVC, i called them like a billion times, they are usually nice, anyway, it's best to call them late at night when they aren't so busy.

I hope i helped

How long till your case was closed? i.e., all forms get signed and received by NVC?

When I called them 2 weeks ago they refused to say, they said we can only tell you that we take 2-4 weeks( i think) to review and reply to any paper you send us. I will try again.

The NVC process will take upwards of 2-3 months on average. It is however dependant on whether or not you use the Timesavers and/or James Shortcuts and whether or not the case is held up in background/security checks. Yes all cases undergo these checks just as at USCIS level....it just varies in the time it takes.

You can find me on FBI

This sucks that we have to go thru security checks...i have just finished a battle with the FBI and USCIS over my citizenship as they helded it for security checks..i sued them and I won.

Do I expect to get stuck again? what do you guys think?
