I think I will use your package as a template. But unfortunately I will not need to use it for at least four months. Congratulations John. Do you think the congressman you contacted greased the wheels for you? Who cares what they did. You are a very happy and excited man now!! Good luck in the rest of your journey.

Actually I don't think my congressmen did anything for me. I had called USCIS 1 week prior to my 5 months and requested a service request. It was granted and my case was being adjudicated and approved when I sent the letters to my congressmen. I did not know that the service request had been approved until after I got my NOA-2. That is not to say that if I had not put in the service request that they wouldn't have helped. You have to do everything that you can to move things along.

April 13, 2011 - Interview - approved!

April 20, 2011 - visa in hand

Just make sure you update the letter of intent with a new date and maybe some additional statement and intentions. I wasn't aware the DS-157 is required! I wonder if it's consulate specific...I will bring just in case. great post!!
