I have read on some posts/replies here on VJ that some Dominican K-1 Visas are being expedited. Where are people getting this information from? Is this just a hallucination of those who want to give a reason behind why some people are getting a fast NOA-2 or is this actually the case?

Thanks to anyone who can provide some insight!

AOS Journey

6.25.2014 Sent off I-130 and I-485 (Day 0)

6.27.2014 Package Delivered to Chicago Lockbox (Day 02)

7.2.2014 Text Messages/Emails Received (Day 07)

7.7.2014 NOA1 Recv'd w/ June 30th Priority Date (Day 12)

7.12.2014 Recv'd Biometrics Appt Letter for 7.25.2014 (17)

7.14.2014 Early Biometrics Walk-In (Bronx ASC- gave us hard time and made us wait an hour and a half just to receive a number but we got it done) (Day 19)

7.29.2014 Status changed to "Testing and Interview" (no text or email notification) (Day 34)

8.28.2014 Received Text/Email "Card/Document Production" (Day 64 (Day 59 from Priority Date))

9.5.2014 Received Text/Email that EAD card has been mailed (Day 72 (Day 67 from PD))

9.8.2014 EAD Card received!! (Day 75 (Day 70 from PD))

9.12.2014 Applied for SSN (Day 79 (Day 74 from PD))

9.18.2014 Received SSN (Day 85 (Day 80 from PD))

10.08.2014 Received Interview Date for Nov 14th!! (Day 105 (Day 100 from PD))

11.14.2014 Interview Date!!! (Day 142 (Day 137 from PD))

Where did you read this?

Are you sure they weren't just expedited for other reasons (being military comes to mind), and not because the beneficiary is from the Dominican Republic?

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Are you reading that USCIS is expediting them, or that the consulate in DR is expediting them? I seriously doubt USCIS are explicitly expediting K1 processing for DR.

i've read this on the VJ forums as replies to people who have received their NOA2 in record time. Those applicants where not expedited and it seems like it is just sheer luck that their petitions have been approved. I actually am very happy for them regardless of the reason but I see that the reasoning that some members have given is that they were Dominican cases. Now I have not read this on any official site for any of the visa processes and so was wondering where they were getting this information from.

I highly doubt this is true but since some people have given this reasoning I am asking, just in case I missed something.

Ah. Yeah, honestly I think it was just coincidence. I read a post earlier this week where someone--I think they were from Kenya--got their approval in record time. So I really think it's just luck of the draw. Best of luck to you! :)

It is true. My fiance (US citizen) called USCIS back in juanuary and told them about the cholera problem here in the DR and we got expedited. They sent him an email with a receipt number and everything and never asked for evidence to get expedited. After that we got a RFE but everything has been going pretty fast after we got expedited. I hope that helps! :thumbs:

They got a little laid back with some cases right now I know 2 people who filed in August got their acceptance in january and this month this week to be exactly both of them got their interview and were aproved! good luck! :)
