I know that Vermont process much quicker than CSC. However at least CSC appear to do it in some vague semblance of order.

As I'm looking at NOA2 approvals, Vermont appear to go from 17 days between NOA1 and NOA2. To over 100 days!

Can anyone explain to me why Vermont is so much quicker than CSC but also seem to have no order to their approvals which appear to be approved willy nilly?

If you lived in California could you still file at Vermont?

Too late for us to do that but might help some of the newbies?

6/05/06 - Mailed off the I29f

06/20/06 - Cheque cashed

7/07/06 - Still not received NOA1. Call CSC. They have input our address incorrectly. Give them the correct details. Also find out what our case number is from them so can check for touches!

07/13/06 - Receive RFE

07/26/06 - Email confirmation they have RFE

07/27/06 - Touched

08/23/07 - Call CSC to find out where NOA1 is and what date was on it. As it was sent to the wrong address it came back as undeliverable. They will not send it out again unless we send them a written request. However date was;

06/09/06 - NOA1

09/07/06 - NOA2 email confirmation

09/28/06 - NVC say they have sent details to US Embassy in London

12/09/06 - Sent back packet 3 recorded delivery

10/30/06 - Medical

11/06/06 - Interview confirmed 1st December!

01/17/07 - Wedding booked in Vegas

IMBRA recalled cases and the backlog that IMBRA caused also messed with VSC.

No, you have to follow the instructions on I-129f.

I can tell you why because CSC has twice the case load as VSC. Somebody at DHS needs to pull their head out and use some common sense on this issue.

Have you not heard. Common sense is very uncommon?

Yes they should have split up the IMBRA recalls and sent them to all 4 centers but instead mid stream they decided that CSC should process all cases from them and NSC, and TSC that includes all the IMBRA recalls from TSC and NSC, including all new cases from those 2 centers. So not twice the case load but nearly 3 times.

VSC is still working on their IMBRA recalls but not like the mountain of paper that CSC has to deal with.

We've tried to collet some data on the recalled cases and as far as the info we've gathered on VJ goes, VSC had most of the recalled cases. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20652

Vermont has always been quicker than the other centers, why is a great question. But now, CSC is handling 3/4 of the country for fiancee visa's. Both the Texas and Nebraska centers now forward their I-129F to CSC so that explains part of the delay and of course IMBRA explains a lot of the current delays. As to the random approvals, well CSC has a pretty weird track record right now. The best thing is to try and be patient. That sounds easy but it can be maddening and down right frustrating waiting for these people to do their job.

I know that when I and my new wife went for her green card interview, the file we had was quite extensive. They had stuff in that file I didn't even know we had done. Just remember all of your paperwork that was filed and multiply it by 10,000. That's about what gets sent to the USCIS centers every week. How else would you explain the huge backlog of applications.

About filing in Vermont if you live out of that region, well it has been done. But you will need a regional address that can be used for your filing application. I have a friend from a western state that filed with his mother's address in New York. His application was approved in about two months and in December he will celebrate his third wedding anniversary. So, it can be done but you need to be careful and have someone you trust handling your mail. How he got around the aspect of reporting financial ability without disclosing his actual residency I don't know. Maybe because that is presented only to the embassy and not the USCIS he was able to get away with it. But, the thing is, it can be done.

Hmmm, if you use an address that's not your real address that could be considered fraud and you could be denied just on that. Is it worth that risk?

I don't know how many applications each service center have to work on, but I've compiled a list - based on the USCIS site - on which applications each one takes care of. Not sure how this will help, but hey! I had some fun.
