NVC case under additional processing

I have a question...I just received the NOA2 in the mail yesterday. So today, I called the NVC, just in case. I asked for my case number, which they provided to me. When I asked for an estimated processing time at the NVC, they operator told me that our case is under additional processing? That doesn't sound good. But when I asked what that meant he only told me that soem cases go through additional processing. What is that really mean? Has this happen to any of you? If so, how long did it take your case to be forwarded to the Embassy? Thanks for your feedback.

I would recommend to just sit back and wait it out.

K-1's usually bounce through NVC to the embassy.

Since your military expedited - you should experience a shorter wait time.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

I didn't know that the USCIS military expedite carried over to the NVC. I thought it was only expedite until the USCIS was done with it. Are you sure they NVC carries over the USCIS approved military expedite? Thanks! :)

I have been stuck at the NVC for months now, I wish I had 2 weeks left. Been 3.5 months for me and still haven't approved anything. TALK ABOUT A LONG WAIT!

I've seen it go 7 weeks or so in the case of BKK. Look here:

I was in the same boat, I bet if you call NVC again and get another agent they will just tell you that it can take up to 4 weeks before application is sent to Embassy.

When I first called NVC I was told my case requires additional processing, I called right back to another agent who told me that case will be sent out to Embassy next day. (GO FIGURE). In my case the case was really sent to Embassy the next day.

WOW! you were right! I took your advice and called them again today. The lady I talked to said that they already forwarded my petition to the Embassy. I guess "additional processing" in nothing more than "we are working on it". Thanks everyone for all of your advise. :)
