Hi my fellow VJ's

I have hit a wee problem. I have tried to get my original vaccination records from Scotland, but the health board said that because of my age vaccinations were not done through the doctors but through the schools and therefor there is no record of my vaccinations. The records were kept on paper and they only keep history of people up to the age of 25. ( i must be getting old the days before computer technology) I have just been to the doctors and had Hep A and Men C. I took the vaccination requirements with me ....... How do i get around this problem????

she said that the following she could do

Hep B x 3 @ £30 a shot

Hep A is free (had this done today)

Men C is free (had this done today)

Pheumococcal is free

all the rest would be in my history which i dont have and cant remember what i had as a child. Apart from having has chicken pox as a child and remembering the BSG injection i dont remember anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys

Well your doctor should have done a serology test on you to find your immunities and so on.

Read this also http://www.visajourney.com/content/uscis-vaccination-requirements

You will find that you like me in OZ were vaccinated for everything and when I did the medical I just had to have Syphilis and TB Xray as I too was before computers lol

Your childhood shots wouldn't really meet the requirements because they have to be done (or boosters) within the last 10 years so not a huge deal you don't have them.

The requirements for your age are

MMR

Varicella (your chickenpox excuses that shot)

Td or Tdap or DT or DTP or DtaP

Hep A and Men C were not needed.

I'm not sure the Tdap (adult version) is available in the UK so they do accept the baby versions like DTP. Lower case letters mean smaller dosage in the mix.

(I'm the UK partner) I had this exact same problem. A Scot who's moved to England, and had been given the runaround by people while trying to just find out if I had the TDAP and MMR jabs up to date.

I first asked my doc, who passed me to the nurse, who passed me to the receptionist, who passed me to the reception manager, who passed me to some immunisation office for England, who passed me to two different offices in Scotland, one of which was a dead number, and the other was a wrong number (A dentist :D )

Eventually, I went in and spoke to a different doctor, and explained the wild goose chase I had been sent on - he said he'd pull my physical records and three days later, I got a phone call telling me that I could pick up a copy as soon as I could come in.

Speak to your doc and explain the problem, then ask them to get your physical records sent, and it should have what you need (hopefully).

You do not need MMR to have been administered in the last 10 years, but you do need the TDAP in the last 10 years. Neither is hazardous to get even if you are well immunised already.
