Congratulations to all those who have finished with their journeys for the time being!!!! I would like to know if there any other original March filers who received an RFE, sent back the materials requested, and are still waiting? This is our case and we have now been waiting for 2 months since we back the RFE and nothing at all on our case! Is this normal??? BTW our local office is in Phoenix.

I'm in the same situation. I've had an RFE and sent everything over 2 months ago but nothing. They're telling me to be patient and saying that they're processing applications from November 2010. It's ridiculous...

Hi all, I wanted to post my interview experience as well. Overall it was great and I got approved the same day, but not at the interview a few hours later.

It was this Wednesday July 27th at 1:45 at Federal Plaza in NY. We didn’t wait much (can’t tell how long because they made us turn off cell phones). The IO was very pleasant and professional. We walked in he swore us in told us to have a seat and asked if he have any additional evidence we want to submit, and if we have pictures he would look at those first, while I am getting the rest of the evidence together. Oh he also asked to see IDs at this point.

I had two albums, a smaller one with photos of our wedding and a larger one with photos since the beginning of our relationship four years ago- holidays, trips, birthdays, everyday hanging out.

He flipped quickly through the photos, by that time I had put a few different folders on his desk, one with cards address to both of us for weddings and birthdays, the financial folder had bank accounts, joint taxes, apartment leases, and some wedding vendor contracts that we both had signed. And the last one was with my husband’s employment letter and pay stubs. And of course the original marriage certificate, birth certificates for both of us, and my passport. Quite honestly not sure what exactly he looked at from these folders as I still kept pulling things out and trying to figure out how to organize them. At this point he started the questions.

Questions to my husband (the USC)

-where was your wife born

-when

-what’s her full name (all names)

-any other names ever used

-what’s her maiden name

-what’s her father’s name

-her father’s last name

-has she been married before

-has she had any children

-how did your wife enter this country

-what’s the name of the school that she attended when she enter (that’s the only question he messed up, so he asked me for the name of the school and I corrected my husband)

-how long did she attend that school

-did she graduate from that school

-does your wife work right now

- what does she do (I do research)

- does she do most of her research on line or does she go to the field?

Here my husband said he doesn’t know the name of the company, but knows what the project is about and that I don’t work from home but work at the office

Then he asked me to confirm the address of the office and the name of the company and when I told him I just worked there for two weeks he asked the same questions about my previous assignment, which my husband answered correctly

Questions to me (the applicant)

-where was your husband born

-when

-has he ever been married before

-has he had any children

-does he have any siblings (I gave him their names)

-do they have any children (again I said yes and gave him names)

-have you been to their homes

Then he closed the file, said it looks like very straight forward case and he will mark it “recommended for approval” but he still has to wait for my security clearances to come in and will approve me then. He said that should happen by the end of day, and he congratulated us. He also gave us his personal phone line to call him after I get approved if I need to travel before I receive the green card I can call and come back to get my passport stamped.

At first I was so excited, but then I started thinking that these “security clearances” will get lost somewhere and I will wait forever. But he actually called my husband around 5:30 or 6:00pm to let us know that I was approved and that my card should arrive in two weeks.

So that was that, definitely thorough interview, but not stressful. The IO was so super nice, over all a pleasant experience especially since I got the approval the same day.

Good luck to the people still waiting!

07/27/11 - Green Card Interview - Approved

08/13/13 - Bio appointment

Was out of town and had to reschedule BIO apt

I don't remember the exact dates, but it went something like this

Did you get the card production ordered message from USCIS?

MoveAndy here I am letting you know :)

I just got and email and text. `On July 29, 2011, we ordered production of your new card`

it took them two days to approve. man overall process was so easy.

me and my wife still think we didn't have an interview, what was that... so easy....

Congrats dude! Very happy for you! We're still waiting for our shiny message, but it'll come soon I guess.

Enjoy the greenery!

I haven't been too active on here but our interview is on the 2nd. I thought I wasn't going to be freaking out or nervous. But as I started putting together our supporting documents today I got so nervous. And I'm getting upset at my husband because his birth certificate was missing and he can't get letters from his employer to verify his employment and hours because it is too late. We have his paystubs and tax returns though.

We, or rather *I* am hoping we get an immediate approval because I want to start planning our family trip to Asia. Please please pease let us get approved.

Guess this is pretty much a vent/prayer rather than an update post. Hope that's okay.

its good for you to find your husband birth cert. the IO might asked for it. as for the letter from employer i think his pay stubs is a prove that his company but to be on a save side tell him how important it is and that you really need it for your interview. i think he can still pick it up from his employer before 2nd august. i wish you a success

So I realized that calling the USCIS about the processing times doesn't really help, because all they do is go on this website: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do

and just read you what it says, something that you can easily do yourself. The NYC processing still shows November 4, 2010 but it was last updated 2 months ago.

i don't think you need to worry about it so much. checking your timeline your file reached them almost on the first of April,

you're not the quite march filer. so I think you're fine.

personally I filed on the 11th of march and received the interview date on late June for an interview date for late July, you should receive the appointment letter in mid-to-late august for mid September. if you think about it it all makes sense really.

by the way you gonna be shock when you go for the interview, lol it was a joke :)

I got the I-130 approval letter today, without any update on the USCIS website.. Does it mean that we should be getting the green card soon as well? The notice date on the letter is July 27 (Date of our interview)

Did you get any update on the website for your I-130? Or just card production for I-485?

i just had the card production on the I-485. I mean I know for so many people I-130 doesn't really change, like mine. I-130 still says initial review and last touch was on 3/17/11.

You shouldn't care much about I-130 coz when I-485 gets into the card production status all is approved/good :)

Congratulations!! Our interview was also at 1:45 on July 27th!

Did you get the card production ordered message from USCIS?

Yes I got the Card production email twice! Both times for I-485, and both times I went on the USCIS website to make sure the status is updated there as well. The first email said they ordered my card on July 27th (the day of the interview) and the second email was today and it says the card was ordered August 1st. I-130 still shows initial review on the website.

I hope you get your card production soon. It makes no sence that they are holding your approval for the original birth certificate. But if you feel you should be doing something see if you can get the original back from the embassy or get a certified copy from Italy, and just have your wife translate it herself or have one of her friends do it and sign the certification that that person speaks both Italian and English fluently.

Good luck! I am sure you'll get some good news soon.

Had my interview today and it was a breeze! Our appointment was for 8am and we reached the building at 7:15am. Weren't allowed to even pass security until 8am. After security, we went to the corresponding room and waited for about 10 minutes before my name was called. The IO was extremely nice. She smiled a lot and didt have an intimidating presence at all. She asked me my name, date of birth, address, how long I've been staying at said address and where I'm working. Then se asked the same questions o hubby. She then asked me to list of questions that I answered 'no' to. She asked how we met and if I had any bills showing we still lived together. And then she basically said she was recommending approval but ahe would be doing a final review f the file.

I had tears in my eyes seeing the words 'approval' on the piece of paper she gave to me. I admit I got worried that I wasn't seeing an approval notice online but it came in at 4pm. I'm so relieved!!
