2 Weeks for the interview and still not signs of the EAD.. Would i get it before the interview? or should i not even bother waiting?

You should receive it before the interview. But your interview is 2 weeks away and once you get approved you'll receive the green card within 2weeks after the interview. I suggest you focus on that process. :)

I just realized I may have forgotten to fill out Part 4. Information About Your Proposed Travel on my I-131 Application For Travel Document. D: That has the Purpose Of My Trip! It's blank in my PDF file on my PC, and I don't recall filling it in by hand afterwards. I wonder if this will cause my AP to be rejected or delayed?

I'm stressing way too hard about this. I'm not worried about getting home in time to give birth; I'm worried about the effect me having to leave will have on my application.

Married since 03/02/2011, AOS from F-1 visa, green card granted 05/24/2011.
Blessed with a healthy baby boy, 08/19/2011! We get to keep our family together! Thank you! smile.png

My understanding is that the AP is routinely issued and that giving them a specific reason for needing it is not that important. They only ask for a specific, special circumstances if you were to apply for an emergency AP with a very short notice (for example, family member dying in your home country etc.) - I think you are fine even if you left that part blank.

I don't write here for that exact reason - nothing to report. I will be sure to inform when something happens.. so far, nada.

I think financial hardship or an unexpected event (like for that person whose apartment/house burned down) are pretty much the only legitimate reasons for EAD expedite. Job offer may work, if you can provide proof that you've been offered a job. Of course you should still try, it doesn't cost you anything but time to contact the congress rep, and it can't hurt your case, so I don't see why not go for it.. but, I doubt it will work, unless you have a legitimate reason to give to them as to why your EAD should be expedited. Besides, we are all only a couple of weeks away from that "90 day" mark, within which we technically should be getting our EADs.. so unless you have a very compelling reason for getting an expedite, chances are the EAD would not arrive any faster even if you contacted the congressman and they got in touch with USCIS.

But, again, nothing to lose by trying..

it's funny how there's just nothing for any of us new yorkers... Anywho yea i think you two are right, I was debating whether to send but now decided not to send anything to any congressman just gonna wait till the end of this month and see what happens on the EADs status.

at least then if still no ead, i would have another reason like `now it's passed its usual time frame`...

I think its better to give yourself an "approval date for EAD". For example, since you filed on March 9th, you can say to yourself.. "I'll be getting my EAD on June 1st"

Chances are, you'll get it way before that time, but at least your heart will know when to expect it!

P.S: We also filed on March 9th and we're also from NY

Take it ez!

today I've done a somewhat successful walk in biometrics at the woodside NY location. the reason why it was somewhat successful was because I first went there at 730 thinking that it wouldn't be very busy but by the time it was 8 there were about 40 people on line. they told that they can't allow me to go in front of all these people and told me to come back between 12 and 2. I went back at 12 and this time it was very quiet. they accepted me and the whole thing took less than 15 mins!

finally got that out of the way! I hope the EAD card or the interview letter won't take as long
