I need to file my 2010 taxes and have some questions. This will be my first filed return after she has arived in the US. I have two step kids that I also sponsored and will claim them as dependents.

1. I need to file married filing seperate due to the fact that I will have a tax liability and dont want my wife to be attached to this liability.

2. My wife did not work in 2010 in the US so she does not need to file any returns.

Question is will this be a problem when we need to remove conditions because we did not file joint.

Any thoughts on this?

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

You won't get the deduction for your wife (and thus lowering your tax owed) if you file separately.

It won't have an impact as far as ROC.
