When my husband entered US, he was already 26. I read somewhere that even if you were 26 or over, you should still get a letter from SSS which states he is not eligible/required. I did this couple months ago for my husband and it took about a month to get this letter. We did have to send few documents such as copy of non-US-passport/greencard. Additionally, since his first entry in US was based on B1 visa when he was 25, we provided documents such as documents from employers inviting my husband to visit US, a letter from his employer here in support of his B1 visa, and his cancelled B1 Visa (in his passport).

Today I received approval letter dated on 09/26/11 kicking.gif

I m so happy kicking.gif

Info for those who are keep checking status on website, my status still says 'review'

Good Luck you all!

Congrats to you and everyone else being approved. I am replying to this post because my status also shows "initial review", but apparently our case is approved.

My NOA1 date is March 15 and seeing the delay in approval, I called USCIS, picked the RFE option and reached a rep (an old technique used during K3 process to reach a rep, seems to work still). He just repeated the information I saw online. Then I reminded him that I am outside of the normal processing time. He double checked and confirmed that I was indeed outside of normal processing time. Then he started to create a service request, but said he was unable to create a service request because of "conflicting information". I asked him if I was providing conflicting information, to which he said no, his screen had issues and he was unable to create a service request. He then passed on my call to a level 2 agent.

The level 2 agent asked for my information and when he realized that I was the petitioner and not the applicant, he asked to speak to the applicant. I thought this was strange, because I never had this problem during the K3 process - in the past, the petitioner could inquire the status of the case. The 1st rep also was OK to talk to the petitioner. Anyway, thinking who am I to question USCIS, I passed the phone to my wife. The 2nd rep asked all personally indentifying information to my wife, kept her on a brief hold of 1 minute and then came back and said that our petition was approved on Sept 30!! I asked my wife to ask the rep why the on-line status was not updated, to which he said that will be updated after the Green Card is issued - again I found this strange. He said we should be getting our approval letter shortly in the mail.

While it is good to hear that our petition is approved, I will believe it when I see the approval letter. So at this time no need to update my status in this forum. Interestingly, I found both the reps I got hold of to be very polite and eager to help, unlike in the past where they seemed over-stressed and eager to get us off the phone. I am narrating this story just as information for people yet to be approved.

Good luck!!

I got a similar experience when i called them last Thursday Sept 29th. I spoke with a rep and he told me i was over the time frame for processing for my petition and that he would submit a Service Request. Well the service request he submitted was that i havent received my card. I am confused because i havent received my approval letter but yet in their system is letting them submit a service request to send me the card because i havent receive it. How accurate are they with the updates??
