Timeline

OK, so I just got NOA1 on our I-130. I paid 420 for the I-130 fee. I know there are more fees coming... how much is the i-864 fee and the IV fee? are there any other fees i have to watch out for? Just trying to be prepared...

OK, so I just got NOA1 on our I-130. I paid 420 for the I-130 fee. I know there are more fees coming... how much is the i-864 fee and the IV fee? are there any other fees i have to watch out for? Just trying to be prepared...

The I-864 will cost $88 and the IV will cost $404. Then the beneficiary has to have a medical done later on, and this varies by country.

06/04/2011... Paid IV fee bill/ in progress
06/07/2011... IV fee bill showed paid/ downloaded cover sheet
06/08/2011... Express mail both the I-864(AOS) and DS-230
06/09/2011... Confirmed del at 11:10am signed by N visa center.
06/21/2011... SIF...yea!!! called NVC..yes case complete but no interview dates until aug..rats!!
06/28/2011... issured interview date set for 08/08/2011 At 6:30am.

Coming to the U.S. Temporarily - Nonimmigrant Visa Services

Important Notice - New Nonimmigrant Application Fees: The Nonimmigrant visa application processing fees increased on June 4, 2010 and is now tiered, as shown below. (There will no longer be one single visa application fee for all nonimmigrant categories.) See the Press Release. Applicants will have to pay the full fee in effect on the day they apply, regardless of when they pay. (Review additional information, including a cost of service study on the www.Regulations.gov website.)

Non-petition-based nonimmigrant visa (except E): $140.00

Border crossing card - age 15 and over (Valid 10 years): $140.00

Border crossing card - under age 15; for Mexican citizens if parent or guardian has or is applying for a border crossing card (valid 10 years or until the applicant reaches age 15, whichever is sooner): $14.00

Other Fees

L visa fraud prevention and detection fee - for visa applicant included in L blanket petition (principal applicant only): $500.00

Border Security Act fee – for visa applicant included in L blanket petition, where petition indicates subject to fee (principal applicant only): $2,250.00

When the nonimmigrant visa application processing fee is not required:

Applicants for A, G, C-2, C-3, NATO, and diplomatic visas (defined in 22 CFR 41.26): No Fee

Applicants for J visas participating in official U.S. Government-sponsored educational and cultural exchanges: No Fee

Replacement of machine-readable visa when the original visa was not properly affixed or needs to be reissued through no fault of the applicant: No Fee

Applicants exempted by international agreement as determined by Visa Services, including members and staff of an observer mission to United Nations Headquarters recognized by the UN General Assembly, and their immediate families: No Fee

Applicants travelling to provide charitable services as determined by

Visa Services: No Fee

U.S. Government employees travelling on official business: No Fee

A parent, sibling, spouse or child of a U.S. Government employee killed in the line of duty who is traveling to attend the employee’s funeral and/or burial; or a parent, sibling, spouse, son or daughter of a U.S. Government employee critically injured in the line of duty for visitation during emergency treatment and convalescence: No Fee

Nonimmigrant visa issuance fee, including border-crossing cards.

When the nonimmigrant visa issuance fee is not required:

An official representative of a foreign government or an international or regional organization of which the U.S. is a member; members and staff of an observer mission to United Nations Headquarters recognized by the UN General Assembly; and applicants for diplomatic visas as defined under item 22(a); and their immediate families: No Fee

An applicant transiting to and from the United Nations Headquarters: No Fee

An applicant participating in a U.S. Government sponsored program which may include applicant’s dependent spouse and children: No Fee

An applicant travelling to provide charitable services as determined by Visa Services: No Fee

Other - When a Visa is Not Required - Visa Waiver Program

Citizens of Visa Waiver Program participating countries, and meeting requirements pay a small fee. Select USCIS fees to learn more.

Coming to the U.S. Permanently - Immigrant Services

Important Notice - New Immigrant Application Fees: Immigrant visa application processing fees and other immigrant visa services fees changed on July 13, 2010, and immigrant visa application processing fees are now tiered. (There is no longer one single visa application fee for all immigrant categories.) Applicants will have to pay the full fees in effect on the day they apply, with the exception of applicants whose fees are collected by the National Visa Center (NVC). Applicants whose fees are collected by NVC, both prior to and after July 13, 2010, will be required to pay only the fees in effect on the day they are billed. Applicants billed by NVC at the current rate prior to July 13, 2010 will not be required to pay the difference between the current and new fees. (Review additional information, including a cost of service study on the www.Regulations.gov website.)

Trust me, the IV is $404. My husband just paid it 2 weeks ago.

Medical at St. Luke's is 313.35 (payable in PHP). That includes shots, x-rays, pregnancy test, blood work, etc.....

NATURALIZATION

02/25/2014 - Eligibility date.

03/03/2014 - N-400 package mailed.

03/11/2014 - Check cashed.

03/14/2014 - NOA received.

04/09/2014 - Biometrics.

04/28/2014 - In-Line for Interview - 6 hours later Interview Scheduled!!

05/02/2014 - Interview Letter received. (Mailed on 29 April)

05/26/2014 - 3 year anniversary.

06/02/2014 - Interview. PASSED!

09/11/2014 - Oath Ceremony.

09/16/2014 - Updated driver licence and registered to vote.

10/08/2014 - Updated Social Security

10/14/2014 - Applied for U.S. Passport

10/27/2014 - U.S. Passport arrived in mail (13 days - DID NOT expedite)

10/30/2014 - Naturalization Certificate arrived in mail (was not folded)

MY IMMIGRATION JOURNEY IS OFFICIALLY FINISHED!!
