How long to receive the visa

Hello, people, how are you

I have a question. You guys that has already gone through the K1 interview, how long was it to receive the visa at home Some people say it delays 3 days, other one week. My interview will be on a tuesday, but my fiancee want me to go with him to america on the sunday just after the interview. Im not sure if Ill have the visa in hands yet. If you can share your experience with me Ill be thankful

It is always advisable to have the visa in hand first before making any traveling arrangement for that purpose. Make sure you pass the interview first, and then get your visa, before your SO comes to get you.

Sorry, my question wasn't so clear. We will have our interview in Rio de Janirero, Brazil, so this question is specific to that embassy. How long did it take to get the visa from the Rio embassy? We know you cant travel without the visa. But my travel time is limited and my fiance wants me to be with her when she travels. Thanx

I read several reviews and it depends on the location you will receive the visa. Closer to Rio, faster arrives, 2 or 3 days seems to average, with more distant locations 4-7 days. It's delivered by courier only, so it should be trackable with an estimated arrival date. You can pay extra at the embassy for expedited delivery.

My lasted 10 days, but you can pay an extra fee and they deliver well faster but also the rate is much too expensive, see if it's worth paying that absurd, I have a friend who is from Belo Horizonte and arrived with 7 days . Good luck

This excellent advice is all that matters right now. Also, besides variance in time of delivery for a visa, consider that the embassy's printer may be down, or the postal truck could be hijacked, or any other number of adverse events. Interviewing on a Tuesday and leaving on Sunday may work fine for some, but -- knowing what I know now -- I wouldn't risk it in a million years.
