Well, there ya go. So there's really no hope if you can't understand that the CBO director is talking about the negative impact on the federal deficit if H.R. 2 were to pass.

Right. Because stealing from old people and raising taxes is more important.

Is your income part of the federal deficit? I don't get your point.

So me paying more money by a law being made by the Socialists is OK because they have made it where I pay more but not to the Feds. Soon if I don't pay the extra to the health insurance and drop the coverage the Feds (IRS) will fine me a couple of thousand bucks.

So it all boils down to the savings is supposed to be good for the Feds bottom line to make them look good but if I am forced to pay through the nose a lot more yearly or face a huge Fed penalty it is Ok. I think the Feds deficit is partly mine also as I am a citizen and I do pay taxes.

Now from what I have heard also is that the CBO says the opposite what you say. So I am confused at what you are arguing.

Logic fail. The Health Care Act had nothing to do with your premiums. Those are dictated by your private, for-profit insurance company. Write them a letter and complain about raising your rates. As for why the Health Care Act didn't address lowering premiums - you can thank the Right Wingers and the insurance companies for fighting tooth and nail against the public option.

Wait. You really honestly believe that the new law has no bearing on my being forced to pay a 40% increase in premiums in just the first year?blink.gif

Come on, you're smarter than that. You pay a private, for-profit insurance company who has the freedom to charge you whatever the hell they want. You as a consumer, have the right to find cheaper insurance. At least according to free market capitalists who oppose a public option. You're barking up the wrong tree, pal.

So repealing the law would add $210 billion and leaving it in place will reduce it by $124 billion. That's a difference of $334 billion.

Over 10 years, i.e. peanuts - less than 5% of the projected cumulative deficits over

the same period ($7.6 trillion) and well within the margin of error.

Yes, health insurance companies make profits. Is there something wrong with that?

But for you to be able to understand why they would charge more in premiums when mandated by the new law to cover pre-existing conditions, remove lifetime caps and cover dependents up to 26 years of age, you'd have to understand how insurance works. That's something I doubt you do understand, since you think premiums are just arbitrarily charged.

The Health Care Act was a compromise between private insurance companies and Right Wingers who oppose the idea of a single payer system. It's far from perfect. However, on the positive side, people can't be denied coverage and now everyone must have health insurance. The mandate will actually lower costs to the insurance companies. Whether insurance companies want to pass that savings on to the consumers or not is another thing. But overall, there was nothing in the law to prevent private, for-profit insurance companies to raise their rates and thanks to the insurance companies with the help of the Right Wingers, a public option was nixed from the bill. So if you're going to dish out the blame, be sure to spread it out to the true guilty parties. It's all too convenient to blame the law when it could have had price caps via a public option, but the very ones bitching about their premiums going up are the ones who were against a public option in the first place.
