Avoiding RFE - Proof of meeting

We filed our petition in November. I only sent date stamped pictures as evidence since the directions on the form are not very clear as to primary and secondary evidence and what's ok and what's not! I just read somewhere that someone sent one picture and got approved.

Our problem is that we really don't have anything other than pictures, didn't think we would need it, but after reading other peoples experiences I'm panicking! I just found this and I am going to send it out so if and/or when we get RFE I at least have something to send them. :(

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Experiences with this?

We didn't send pics either till we got an RFE lol but thats all we had too no text records or emails as we didn't email that much talked on yahoo the whole time and text. The RFE we sent 6 photos and 2 affadavits from people that knew us is what we were asked for and I sent them a wedding invitationand they wanted his employment letter and wages even though he is retired military and works for the government still. Don't worry if they want more they will RFE you trust me it's ok just send them back what they want and you will be approved.

You could try requesting your travel records from the US government under the Freedom Of Information Act. I'm not quite sure how to do that though.

I think you need to request it from the "U.S. Customs and Border Patrol" office

The burden of providing proof doesn't seem as difficult for Canadians as it may be for countries farther away from the US. They know we can easily visit backa nd forth. How did you meet in person? If you flew, you have ticket stubs/ receipts....you probably don't have passport stamps because they don't do that when Cdns and Americans travel back and forth. Do either of you have receipts using your credit card when visiting the siginificant other in their town?

Photos are a dime a dozen and can be easily photoshopped - I believe they don't consider those primary proof anyway. Emails can obviously be faked as well....I personally didn't send any email because they had personal content which was none of their business ;p We had receipts, phone records, copies of the outside envelopes to each other with post stamps on them etc... after 2 yrs of dating we had plenty of evidence

ATM Receipt, Credit Card Receipt, Credit Card Statement showing charges in Canada, Bank Statement showing withdrawls in Canada, Airline Ticket.

Pictures are worthless. Emails show validity of relationship, they do not show you being in the physucal country.

This is kind of what I was asking. I am going to try and do that!

Thanks everyone for your comments.

We both drive. We see each other about twice a month on average, not as much since we filed though. We didn't get any receipts from the bridge. No passport stamps. He pays for my expenses when I am there and I for his when he is(was) here! Had i known what I know now we would have done things differently.

I am going to try and get a record of my travels otherwise if we aren't lucky enough we could be in trouble. :(

I think the idea of Barbara J could be good for your case; how about affidavits from people that know you?

I will definitely do that as well. I will gather as much stuff as I can and hope for the best.

I always new immigration was a process but figured things would be easier with Canada. I guess not

We sent in afidavits from people who knew of our relationship and were at our wedding with our application, along with just a few pics from only our wedding.

And we didn't have any problems or RFE's on it.
