Girlfriend denied at POE. Canada to US

I was denied entry in Aug of 2006, then I re-entered the US in Novemeber 2007. I never had a problem getting into the US. It was quick, few questions.. and that was it.

I don't think they "flag" people for more than 24 hrs after the denial. In 2006, the customs agent told me I would be inadmissible to the United States for 24 hrs from the date I received the rejection notice.

FYI, I have been flagged, according to the CBP, until I do AOS. It does happen.

I agree. If you've been flagged you're in there until it's removed. And you have to request the removal. The 24 hour notice was for you not to try again until that time has elapsed.

As someone said in this thread, don't rush people to file a K-1!! As we all have seen on the VisaJourney form, so many people get married without hardly knowing each other and more times then not, it ends up in a very sore divorce! The qualifications for filing a K-1 should not be, "Have you met her in person yet?". Jeesh.

I hope the OP was successful in what he was trying to accomplish. But these things do happen and you have to make sacrifices. If she can't come to you for awhile, it's your turn to go to her

Thank you everyone for your responses. You all were very helpful. I have some good ideas now BUT we do have a problem!!

The ties to Canada are an issue now. She is currently looking for a new job and recently left her apartment to go live with her parents to save a little money....So there goes the job letter and the lease In fact, I'm ready to file for a K1 visa...but I know that takes forever...

I need to figure out how to get her across...this is becoming ridiculous!

this is why my husband and i started the k1 process. i was refused entry 3 times even with proof of ties for the last 2 attempts. and yes you will be scritinized every single time you cross from now til you get approved. it is all in the computer no matter what crossing or airport you use.

if you don'have a job lease school its almost impossible to get through again. it took us a year before they let me cross and that was only once i had my appointment date in montreal for my interview.

Can you not go up to visit her? that would be much easier at this point.
