Medical Exam

Hi guys, my fiancee wants to get her medical exam done when she visits Manila. Since she's there already she wanted to do her medial exam.

My question is, will she be able to get her exam done without interview date? I tracked the package & it arrived at the embassy today. We have a letter from NVC with our MNL case number. If I send a copy of that letter, is that enough to let her get the medical exam done? Or do I have to wait until they process the documents at the embassy?

Thanks guys for any and all advice

She can use the NOA2 :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

She can use the NOA2 :)

I just called the Embassy for a confirmation that our documents had arrived, but I guess it won't be processed yet. Anyways, I asked the lady on the phone about doing her medical before our file is processed and she told me that we won't be able to get an exam unless we have scheduled for our interview already. So should I disregard what she said and tell me fiancee to go ahead and try to get her medical done?

thanks for all your replies messybrownhair, I see you reply to almost all my posts :)

I believe you will indeed need to call and schedule an interview date before you can get a medical exam also she will need her passport. I think there's a online system now to schedule your interview but that wasn't available back when we did it 6 months ago.

This has been covered many times here....your fiancee will need the NOA2 and something with the MNL case number on it. She can go anytime...no need to wait for an interview appointment. My wife did an advanced medical 2 months before the interview...we didnt find out our interview date until about a month after her medical. When the embassy send out the appointment notice to my wife, it came 2 days before her "scheduled" medical and 9 days before the interview.

It is best for your fiancee to go to St Lukes Medical Extension Tues-Thursday about noon. There is no need to go at 4:30 am and wait in line all day.

Check out the embassy site about the medical requirements: http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3218.html

Like Scott said, this question has been asked and answered many times in this forum.

Yes, take your NOA2 and your MNL case number with you and go get your medical done. You don't need an interview appointment.
