Not so weird that she had to remove her ear rings by the way. You better do that on passport photos as well.

We had our oath yesterday in Tampa.

Appointment was at 8AM.

We arrived at the Tampa Convention Center at about 7.30am and the covered garage was getting full. Parking is only $5(and you can pay by cash or credit card)

Ceremony promptly started at 8AM and ended at about10.30AM - Once the ceremony was over, we registered with the county elections for voter registration and applied for U.S passport!

Expect long lines while applying for the passport..it took us about 90min but its better to get it done the same day(do make a copy of your Naturalization Cert, since you have to send it along with your application)

Hindsight: Doing FP early did not change the timeline in our opinion., perhaps it may at D.O's where they do same day ceremony but in other D.O's where they have ceremonies once a month, it doesn't make a difference.

The minor downside is that Passport fees increased on July 13th to $160 but we are happy that the immigration journey is coming to an end

Our interview experience...

We arrived about 30 mins before the scheduled time. Passed thro' metal detectors, our interview letter was collected and in about 10 mins our names were called. Only my spouse was allowed to go-in.

Went thro' all the questions from N-400, asked if we were married all the while? separated anytime? filed taxes jointly?..did not ask to see any of the supporting documents we carried.

Following questions were asked:

1. What do we call the first ten amendments to the Constitution?

2. Name of the speaker of the house of Representatives?

3. Who lived in American before the Europeans arrived?

4. When was the Declaration of Independence adopted?

5. Name one of the two longest rivers in the US?

6. Why does the flag have 13 stripes?

and followed by a short written test.

Received form N-652 and a note that "A decision cannot yet be made about your application"

I guess we just have to wait now.

you said we went to the uscis office did you mean you and your spouse have to go there together or your the one that has to be interviewed
