evidence of financial support

hi there!

was re-reading the requirements for K1 applicants. what did they mean by evidence of financial support? it's just that i recently graduated from my residency program and i am still in the process of reviewing for my boards, which won't be until june--so at the moment, i'm not employed. do they mean financial support from me? or financial support from my fiance?

would it be okay if i show them a bank account?

The form you need to submit is called I-134. This is where you can find the instructions:

Do you always need 3 years of tax returns??

The USC in our case has only worked since last June so only her 2011 return will show any earnings, before then she was a college nursing student. She clears the poverty line easily but, as i say, do i still need 3 years??

If tax returns were not filed the USC will likely be asked for proof as to why they did not have to file.

My husband and I followed the instructions regardless of his previous returns not making the line. They looked at all 3 at the interview, but took the most recent into account.

I read an article on MSN news the other day saying even students need to file Tax Returns.

Thanks so much for the site! I thought the evidence of financial support was meant to be from me, because that would've been tough. Then I read this from this the site you sent me. "The USCIS is concerned ONLY about the US fiance's income/assets." So okay...I'm not so worried now.
