Yes, check the Reciprocity Schedule for the country she is needing the PPC from. They will tell you whether or not its available.

Did they stay in the one country for the 6 months or possibly a couple of countries? If just one they do need a police clearance, if two or more they won't need.

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Thanks a lot!! It's for my sister, she has an interview on Feb 15th and there's no way she can get this on time. Any ideas

what to do in this situation? She stayed in one country for more than six month.

Thanks!

Since she was there for 6 months or longer a PPC is required. If I were her I would find out what is required to get a PPC from the country she lived in and find a way to get it to me ASAP. If she can't get it in time she can reschedule her interview or go to it as scheduled. She won't have this document but maybe by then she will know when to expect it and try to get a second interview scheduled then. It's possible, but not likely, they continue the interview and just hold the final results pending receiving that document. Good luck.

I'm pretty sure you don't need one for less than 12 months out of country. You need one for every residence over 6 months in country.

Thanks!

I agree. It says 12 months out of country - http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police In country it is 6 months. In my wifes case she only needed one for in country, since the PCC is issued nationally.

For the CR1 visa you need clearances for countries that they stayed in for 12 months or longer. The 6 month one is for when they lived in a different part of their home country.

Taken from here (US Embassy Armenia): http://armenia.usembassy.gov/uploads/G_/g3/G_g3yOgFmc1aML3nyNIogg/crir_en_mar2010.pdf

6. Police Certificates: Applicants aged 16 and over are required to submit police certificates in all names as well as all dates of birth that they have used. Police certificates are available from Armenia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The police certificate must contain references to each place where the applicant has lived for more than six months since the age of 16. This includes localities where applicants lived during university studies. If an applicant has lived abroad for more than one year (excluding in the United States), a police certificate must also be submitted from the country where he/she lived. If not in English, an English translation is required.**
