Biometrics letter...should i expect within the 30 days?

We filed my AOS on December 21, 2010 and the receipt notice is dated 12/27/10. We got our paper NOA1s about 3 weeks ago, but I still haven't received a biometrics letter. Should I be concerned, or is it common for the USCIS Service/Application centers to be somewhat behind schedule? The NOAs for my I-485 and I-765 state that I should have a biometrics appt letter within 30 days of filing. I did call USCIS on Friday to advise them that I haven't received an appointment letter yet, and they're going to notify the service center. I'm hoping everything is going smoothly. Any advice? What should I do if I still haven't received my letter in a couple weeks?

If your ASC center is busy, it is normal. 1-2 months for biometrics appointments. Some people have waited longer for one.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I remember a member saying that she had been waiting around 50 days for her letter (that was maybe 3 months ago), and I know she was in Texas too. She actually did a walk-in and was taken right ways if I remember... You might want to look into that, especially if the center is close to you. I don't remember if it was close to her, but it could be a solution if you want your file to move along... I know that she had found out that the office was very busy...

quite a few people from texas waited a long time for their bio as it is a very busy office. i'm in chicago and it took me a few months. what you can do is call uscis, and ask for "non delivery of notice" service request. i got mine a week after that.

Don't expect anything when it comes to this stuff. I did my biometrics like 2 weeks ago and now suddenly I got the second biometrics appointment since the FBI was unable to process my last fingerprint card. . I was like REALLY? They don't know how far it is and how inconvenient for applicants to do it again. Before I left last time, I asked the one who took my fingerprint if everything was all set. He was like, yeah and here's your receipt. And now I'll have to come back again in 10 days for biometrics. That would be great  .I'm sick of this whole process already.

My biometrics letter came in 5 months after I received my NOA. Check out my timeline. This varies some come sooner others like mine later. If your ASC is back-logged like the reason given to me then it would really take awhile. I am in New York so a lot of applicants in my area. I know it's easy to say this, but all you can do is be patient & be positive. It will come. :)

Good Luck!!!
