Hello everybody. I just received my Oath letter in the mail. (Form N-445) and i would like to ask, do i have to fill it now or wait till i go to the oath ceremony? and what do i need to take with me ?? i have = My old work permit + the Green Card. any else? and do i need to do anything after the Oath ceremony? like go to Social security Administation to change my status? and go to the DMV? and can i laminate my Certificate of Citizenship???

10/01/2010: Application was sent.

10/04/2010: Application was received.

10/06/2010: Email received "Application has been received" & Noticed Date.

10/07/2010: "Touch"

10/08/2010: "Touch" & Check was Cashed

10/09/2010: NOA1 Received visa mail.

10/22/2010: Status Changed Online "Request for evidence" It was for Biometrics.

10/25/2010: Request for evidence recieved "Biometrics Notice".

11/18/2010: Biometrics date ==> 11:00AM.

11/18/2010: Biometrics was taken.

12/03/2010: "Yellow Letter" Received.

12/06/2010: "Touch" Case Moved to "Testing and Interview".

12/08/2010: Interview Letter received via mail.

01/13/2011: Interview Date.

01/13/2011: "Interview Done" Passed the Test.

01/14/2011: Oath Letter was Sent.

01/20/2011: Oath Letter Recieved via mail.

01/28/2011: Oath Date.

You make a copy of your certificate and you send it away with your passport application same day.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

03/23/2011 Finally became a US Citizen, it was a great Experience for the Oath Ceremony in Paramount Theatre.

03/24/2011 I applied for the Passport at San Francisco Passport Agency

03/25/2011 I received the Passport, FINALLY US Citizen, thanks god :-)

You need to fill it out the very day your Oath takes place, as explained on the N-445 itself. In fact, I filled it out 1 minute before getting in line to surrender my Green Card. What if you get a traffic ticket on the way to the Oath Ceremony, something that has to be listed, again, according to the instructions!

You take the original N-445 and your Green Card with you. Don't bother taking anything else; you won't need it. Take a $10 bill if you want to buy one of them fancy booklets outside (I did) in which you can put your Certificate of Naturalization afterward. Do not apply for a passport right then and right there, as that would prevent you to make a copy of your certificate before mailing it out. Don't fill out the voter registration card either, unless you are determined to be called for jury duty as soon as possible. Wait with that until you know when the next elections will take place.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . Sand, was your case updated online? I'm just trying to figure out how you knew when your interview letter was mailed out.

I don't know about waiting to apply for voter registration. I applied to get my voter registration card within days of my oath ceremony (5 years ago) and I have NEVER been called for jury duty.

I don't know about waiting to apply for voter registration. I applied to get my voter registration card within days of my oath ceremony (5 years ago) and I have NEVER been called for jury duty.

JA Tam, No my case wasnt updated Online. but i called USCIS. and i asked them to speak to a 2nd Level Officer. after he asked me some information. like my DOB, my address My NBC# then he was able to tell me everything about my case after the Interview and even he told me my Oath letter on the way, and even he told me when they sent it. all what u need to do to talk to a 2nd officer. and he will tell u all about it.
