I am about to submit my I-129F packet and have made 2 copies of the entire packet, should i or do i need to have the copies notarized as true copies of the originals? Also does the USCIS send me the entire original packet back and then i have to send that to my Fiance?

I-129F NOA1 : 2011-01-25

I-129F RFE(s): NONE!!!

I-129F NOA2 : 2011-06-02

Interview Date : 2011-09-01

Interview Result : Approved

Photocopies will suffice, no need to have them notarized; they are extra copies for you to keep in case the USCIS loses something, as well as for your fiance(e) to review so s/he knows what has been submitted. The packet will be forwarded to the US Embassy where you fiance(e) is based.

02-23-2018: Sent N-400 Application online

02-23-2018: Date on NOA, retrieved from online account

02-23-2018: Date on Biometrics Appointment Letter (Biometrics Appointment at Jacksonville ASC on March 13, 10:00 a.m.)

03-08-2018: Biometrics complete

04-05-2018: Case status updated - Interview Scheduled on May 10, 2018, 10:15 a.m. :D

05-10-2018: Citizenship Interview - Passed English and Civics Tests, Recommended for Approval! :D 

06-19-2018: Received email and text notification: Naturalization Ceremony Scheduled; waited for letter to be uploaded on online account - it has been set on Wednesday, July 25, 3:00 p.m.

07-25-2018: I am now a U.S. Citizen!

Thank you for this and just one other question if you dont mind, I am divorced and have a copy of the Divorce Decree, i have read this should be a certified copy. Can you confirm if the one sent with the I-129F should be certified or just the one for the interview?

Notarization is not required. You never get anything back that you send them, stays in your permanent file.

Just know that once you submit the 129F, with every day that passes it is that much less time for you and your fiancee to be together!! So take care and keep in touch here!! This is a great community with so many helpful & kind persons willing to help!

I got three certified copies of my divorce decree anyway. Was only like $15 for each one, and worth it, personally. There have been posts where people have gotten RFE's for that, but then some people mail copies and its fine. I think it depends on the officer that gets to look at your case.
