Hi VJer's

Went to our AOS interview this morning and everything went according to plan.

The IO asked about how we met, where we were born, parents names etc.

We showed our joint photos, utility bills and everything seemed fine.

Then she asked for my Biometrics appointment letter, after a quick look she said she

needed to make a copy of it and left the room. She came back a minute later and told us

the interview was finished and we would be notified at a later date of the result.

I asked if it is a common occurance for the applicant to not get a decision at the interview

and the IO answered yes, said she felt our marriage was authentic and handed me a piece

of paper stating:

"Your application for permanent residence is pending for the reason checked below....

Additional administrative checks have been submitted but have not yet been resolved."

What the f*** does that mean! Have I become part of the background check posse, what aspect

of administration needs resolution, do they need to chat around the coffee machine.

I feel more unsure of my position now than before the interview.

Any answers out there?

I'm sorry to welcome you to the 'posse'.

Our timelines are almost identical and my IO also asked about my biometrics, now I have twilight zone music in my head and am wondering if something is up with the coincidences.

You have similar NOA1 date to us and filed from the Los Angeles office -- I got a letter after my interview stating "additional review is required to determine eligibility"

We scheduled Infopass and they told us we were waiting for FBI security clearance -- still don't know if we are approved, but have a tangible reason at least why it has been delayed.

I suspect it's quite similar to what's happening to you

I had the same problem with my interview last week. I guess its a matter of sitting and waiting..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Alice and I went to her AOS interview on the same day in August at the L.A. office. We are still waiting as of today, January 11, 2006.

Hopefully it will not be too much longer for the both of us. We have an INFOPASS appt. next Thursday.

Good luck!

Namecheck is not ordered based on the biometrics. My husband's namecheck was begun on November 23, 2005 and his biometrics were not taken until mid-December.

Sounds like your prints were lost or unreadable. Fingerprint clearance is USUALLY much quicker.
