In regards to prove a Bona Fide relationship for CR1, how often should one visit their loved one?

Today, my wife says someone told her if I do not come to visit before March 2011 this year, she will not

receive the Visa, since my last visit was March 2010. The guide lines say, that "must have met

person", but the real requirements in number and frequency of visits may be different. Any

opinions???

my opinion is

every 3 to 4 months, for 2 to 3 weeks.

But that's just my opinion.

be 'ware the 'someone told her bit -

as

usually this is coming in from the 'sisters' at the 001 BBS

and about 90 percent of 'stuff' there is wrong , generated as part of a big game to trip up the newbies.

This game is played by old ladies who were unsuccessful in the process or were caught out to be a visa fraud applicant - so -

if indeed the 001 BBS 'portal' - I say - disregard anything from there.

Specifically for GUZ IV for a CR-1 Visa -

my 'golden ticket' guidelines is 4 times in 2 years, with a big trip during CNY. CNY is important, la.

How many times you went back after the marriage? If it zero, it could be a red flag (problem). It happen to my wife and I. I had not went back after the marriage, that is one of the reason why our visa was denial.

I say a least one time go back before the interview date, but it will be better if it was more than one time. You don't have to stay a long time, a least a week. After my wife denial I went back 4 time after the denial. The time span was from July'2008 (1st interview date) to April'2010(2nd interview date). All 4 trips was a weeks stay. I want to stay longer but I don't have much vacation time. Also it look better 4 trips (short stay) than 1 trips (long stay). The fourth(last)trip was on my wife second interview. The 4 short stay trip was a dent($$$)in my wallet but it was all worth it. IR-1 VISA APPROVED(PINK). The denial did help. At the beginning I apply for a CR-1 visa. It change from CR-1 to IR-1. Since we were marry more then 2 years.

IR-5 for wife's parents:
3-24-2014: I-130 approved
4-08-2014: USCIS sent to NVC
5-07-2014: Case recieved at NVC
5-15-2014: Case number & IIN Assigned
5-21-2014: Completed DS-261
5-22-2014: Sent ENROLL EP email
5-27-2014: Sent AOS through EP
6-14-2014: Case number change from GUZ to GZO

7-04-2014: Sent DS-260 fee

7-07-2014: Sent Civil Documents

7-08-2014: Completed DS-260

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8-27-2014: Case COMPLETE! YES!...YES!...YES! :joy::thumbs::dance:

There are no hard and fast rules. If it's been nearly a year though and you can arrange another trip before the interview, that would be good. Lots of people have gotten visas with only one visit, more than a year before the interview, even through GUZ. However, more is better. The time you spend together is the strongest possible evidence of a bona fide relationship.

We married in early December, and I returned in late March for two weeks. I wanted to attend the August interview as well but could not arrange it. The longer the time between visits the bigger the red flag. Go if you can.

Looks like a March or April interview for you. Can you be there for that?

I am hoping to go to Chongqing, March/April for 3 weeks again. January and February is just too dangerous to fly. So much snow, airports are shut down often. My April 2009 trip took 50 hours travel to get there. On my March 2010 trip, I just got out of the Atlanta airport a few hours before the snow hit, and shut down the airport. This time I will try a March/April visit, 3 weeks again. I am hoping the Interview will be around that time. More snow today, glad I have plenty of firewood....... :hehe:
