DS-160 is an online form that generates the barcode.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

You are a K-1 visa applicant, so you don't need to use the DS-160. Maybe you are trying to make an interview appointment in the wrong place. I think you are trying to use the immigrant page to book your appointment. Have you tried to make an interview appointment on the non-immigrant web page? That's where you should be.

hi all!

is DS-160 needed for the K1 interview? It's not included in the documents listed in the packet but when setting up appointment online, it asks for the DS-160 barcode so im a little confused. help pls!! thanks

DS-160 says not for K-1 visas. We didn't need it. I asked the same question.

It's so confusing sometimes. Good Luck!

K-Visas use DS-156, not DS-160.

This online one generates a special bar-code: https://evisaforms.state.gov/ds156.asp

The Manila Embassy and ustraveldocs sites both say that the DS-160 is required for all non-immigrant visas. This is not the case for non-immigrant K visa. I wish they would clarify this on their websites somewhere but the only place that says it is not required is on the DS-160 FAQ section of the US Department of State website. Pretty confusing if you ask me.

If you read further/look at the powerpoint presentation, it does clarify the K-1 doesn't use the 160. They should mention that a bit earlier though.
