Whats next after POE

Ok, so wifey made it here 2 weeks ago. Still no welcome letter or anything. Just wondering if I need to file for GC and SSN or that will be automatically done?

I would like to change her name on GC / SSN as NVC screwed it up, how do i go about doing that?

You should go down to the SSA office to get the SSN. Even if you checked YES on the Ds-230, it is unreliable

The green card will be mailed to you.

What name is in her passport? If it is her maiden name then the green card will be in her maiden name. You'll file an I90 to change it

Thanks Canadian_Wife.. Folks at NVC screwed up and added FNU (First name unknown), And then her First name. Now its gonna cost me extra $365 to file I-190. I was wondering, If I can call them somehow before they produce the GC and have it fixed? Do I just call USCIS or someone else?

Call them and see, but honestly the case shouldn't have left NVC without the correction being fixed. They may say it was your responsibility

if you want the name change,on the permenent residence card, if you made the error then you need to file form 1-90 and pay 450.00 dollars, if the card was made administrative error the it's there mistake it's free,down load the form 1-90,

jKelly07, its the mistake of NVC and not USCIS. When I called NVC they said it would cause more delays in order to fix the name. They said leave the name as is since visa would be issued on passport name. But they still issued the visa on the incorrect name.

then its there mistake administrative thay have to take care of that no charge,. i had the same thing happen to my wifethe card was in her maiden name, but we file as married on cr1, we called thay said yes it's administrative error, thay sent another in the right name it took 5 weeks, no charge,

having the same problem here with the name, at the last minute NVC changed the first name to FNU and the put the (first name and last name) in the last name together. can this problem be fixed at the interview? thanks
