You have 6 months from the date on the visa, which I guess would be Nov 8.

You need to look at the visa it self, look for it's expiration date, need to enter the USA before that date.

K-1 may be 6 months, however the consulate CAN set a shorter date depending on passport validity, or medical expiration.

okay, i will have her look again. So every visa is supposed to have some kind of expiration date included on it in the passport?

YES,

cr-1_a.jpg

Note date in lower right corner.

K1 is slightly different than CR1 because it's not an immigrant visa (and it's single entry, and doesn't act as an I551 upon entry) - the expiration date is more in the middle.
