USCIS Journey (9 months NOA2)
05/13/2013 Sent, 05/17/2013 NOA1
12/16/2013 Cases transferred from NBC to NSC
02/18/2014 NOA2 Hardcopy, 02/20/2014 USCIS sent to DoS
NVC Journey: NVC Process (4 months from NOA2 - case completed)
04/04/2014 Call NVC and got both parents case # and IIN #
04/07/2014 Complete DS-261 for both parents (Choice of Agent), Got email from NVC to pay Affidavit of Support (AOS), AOS Paid online, $88 fee
04/09/2014 IV Paid online, $460 fee both parents
04/12/2014 Complete DS-260 for both parents
04/16/2014 Express Mail AOS and IV Package (mail all these in one envelope)
05/07/2014 Both parents AOS approved

Yes, AOS I-864 for each parent. Now, you will have to wait for the NVC number and Invoice Identification number to be assigned, before you can do anything else, it takes 2-8 weeks. You can start call

The petitions for parents are separate, though, and only one parent is listed on each petition. My guess would be multiple persons applies to the beneficiary with dependents, i.e. IR-1/2 or K-3/4. AO

I figured I'd post the questions my mom was asked. There was a lot.

1. Who is the petitioner?

2. Where does the petitioner work?

3. Where does the petitioner live?

4. How many children does the petitioner have?

5. Who is the joint sponsor?

6. Where does the petitioner's husband work? (I'm glad my mom was able to answer that; she did not remember my husband's employer's name, but she explained the job as well as she could).

7. Is her other child adopted?

8. Was he adopted in Russia?

9. Is he a Russian citizen?

10. Who will he be staying with in Russia?

11. Does my mom plan on filing for his immigration?

I think that was it, unless my mom forgot something.

They also asked how old the petitioner's (my) children are and where my mom plans to live in the USA, whether it's with me or not. That makes it 13 questions.

Sorry for blowing this thead. I just paid AOS of $88. I print out the "Document Cover Sheet." It said petitioner to submit an Affidavit of Support and supporting documents. What is the form to be completed? Do they mean the AOS Package listed in Step #4 at ww.w.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process#Step_2_-_DS-261 Can I wait until I pay IV and then sent all at once? Will this delay the process?

Sorry for blowing this thead. I just paid AOS of $88. I print out the "Document Cover Sheet." It said petitioner to submit an Affidavit of Support and supporting documents. What is the form to be completed? Do they mean the AOS Package listed in Step #4 at ww.w.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process#Step_2_-_DS-261 Can I wait until I pay IV and then sent all at once? Will this delay the process?

The I-864 is the firm you complete for AOS and yes you can send both the AOS and IV at the same time like I did. No it will not delay the process.

I have another question, so I know when i'm submitting the IV docs for my mom i need to include passport sized pics. Back in the dAy iv pics were different from the passport style pics. The pictures requires for the iv packet are passport pics right???

My mother just received an interview date via email... May 19th!! Quick Question, Will I be receiving anything in the mail as the petitioner or will she receive all the paperwork that she needs to get take to get her medical done? Thanks!

Congrats!!!!!

She will receive all the paperwork for the interview. Be sure to follow up and make sure she gets it in the mail. My mom never got hers (still haven't) I had to get proactive and got her a medical appointment without the letter then email the embassy and they sent me a copy of the letter they claimed they mailed.

They are pretty much one and the same these days. The ones my mom used were passport sized pictures and they were accepted. Here's the requirement for the photos http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/general/photos.html

Yes. They're the ones who schedule the appointment so they can change it for you if they can get a sooner date from the embassy.
