I have one VJ'r that has been able to help me out a little bit about the MSC in Kansas City, MO.

Right now my wife has 3 applications for herself and 3 for her son I-485. I-765, and I-131 all I-797's

have address of Lee's Summit, MO (so I assume everything is being done there. I can find a processing

time for the I-485 (says July 2010, hope this is incorrect since it appears the last time they updated

this list was back in October 2010. For the other 2 forms it does not show any processing times at

all, how would I get their processing times. I am hoping to find other's that are going through

Kansas City, MO by mail (RFE)and in person for AOS interview, would really be interested in seeing

their timelines, and also to find out what people think about this office, about how long was interview,

I.O. the last information I could find out about this office was over 6 months ago so would

really like a update.

MSC is a clearing house, they will do initial process there, and then send it to California or to your field office for an interview.

They will send you a transfer notice if they decided to send it to California, if that happens the I-485 may get approved without an interview.

For processing time of I-485 look at your field office. If you do not know which office is your field office, look it up by your zip code here:

My Field Office is Kansas City Missouri and my wife has a interview there on the 10th of February, all case numbers start with MSC, and packets were mailed to Chicago Lockbox address, and return receipt from post office showed signed for in Chicago. Lee Summit, MO is only about 45 minutes from Kansas City.

I have used both the sites you meantioned and I have been using those to check.

I think you're confused about two different offices, and which does what. MSC is NOT in Kansas City. What used to be called Missouri Service Center is now the National Benefits Center. It is located in Lee's Summit, MO.

The office in Kansas City, MO is a Field Office. The two offices are completely different.

All (no matter where in the country you live) applicants' AOS paperwork goes to the National Benefits Center (NBC) at Lee's Summit, MO after being cleared through the Chicago Lockbox. Despite it being called NBC, they still use case numbers starting with MSC. NBC handles the approval of EAD and AP. An applicant's AOS paperwork (I-485) could sit there at NBC for a while before being sent to either their local field office (Kansas City, MO in your case) or to California Service Center. If the applicant's I-485 paperwork is sent to CSC they'll mostly likely not have an interview (not guaranteed). If it's transferred to their local office, they will have an interview.

So, you say your wife has her interview date. That means the Kansas City field office received her I-485 application from NBC. The other two applications - EAD and AP are still at NBC in Lee's Summit, and will remain there until they are approved. Don't confuse the NBC location in Lee's Summit with your local field office in Kansas City.

So if you want to know processing times for the EAD (I-765) or AP (I-131) you would be looking at the times for National Benefits Center. They both just state standard 3 months. There's no further info you can really get about that.

If you want to know processing times for the I-485 then you'd be looking at the Kansas City field office information. But you already have an idea of their processing times because you've luckily already gotten an interview date! The fact that it says June 16, 2010 as the processing timeframe means that they are running behind schedule and aren't managing to get ALL I-485s processed within the goal time of 4 months. But you don't have to worry about all that anyway since you've already got an interview date. You won't hear anything more about the I-485 application until you have that interview date. Everything is on hold until then, when they can interview you and make a decision.

I'm the USC petitioner.
