Hi all, well got home yesterday and there was a letter from Homeland Security advising that my I485 was approved and welcome to America and should receive my GC in about 3 weeks. Was so surprised as I had an RFE because they wanted my vaccination record transcribed from my DS 3025 to I693, and the last I heard was an update via text and email on Dec 3 saying RFE reveiw response. I checked online and my case still shows this so I guess you can not always go by the online system. Well It was nice surprise and a great Christmas gift. Soooooooooooooooooooooo happy to be done with the USCIS for 2 years.

Aug 23 2010 - mailed via USPS overnight courier to USCIS

Aug 24 2010 - received a USCIS at 11.40am signed for by Chyba

Sept 1 2010 - received email and text confirmation for AOS,EAD,AP

Sept 7 2010 - received hard copy of NOA1 for AOS,EAD,AP

Sept 10 2010 - received biometrics apt letter for Oct 1, attempting walkin Sept 17

Sept 17 2010 - successful walk-in biometrics apt

Sept 20 - EAD and AOS touched

Sept 27 - received email and text at 7:30pm that my AOS was transfered to CSC (yeah no interview)

Sept 29 - case touched, arrived at CSC received email and text from USCIS

Oct 4 - AOS touched

Oct 6 - AOS touched

Oct 7 - AOS touched again!!!!

Oct 14 - AOS touched again!!!

Oct 15 - AOS touched again

Oct 19 - AP approved (no email or text notification of approval)

Oct 21 - EAD approved received text and email of card production ordered.

Oct 25 - Received Hardcopy of AP in the mail

Oct 29 - Received another text that EAD card was mailed (post decision activity)

Nov 1 - Received EAD card in the mail

Nov 9 - RFE for vaccination record transcribed over to I693 form

Nov 13 - Found Dr. who would complete just the vaccination part of the form yeaaaah!!!

Nov 17 - USCIS received my RFE response papers in California

Dec 3 - Received email and text confirmation that my case was updated from RFE to RFE review response

Dec 9 - Green Card approved, never received any email or text and my USCIS case still shows in RFE Response review

Dec 14 - Received my approval notice and welcome to America letter advising it was approved Dec 9th

Dec 17 - Green card received, finally done with USCIS for 2 years

2011-03-17(Day 159): Interview - Review file response

2011-03-18(Day 160): Card production email/text for Green Card!

2011-03-21(Day 163): Welcome to USA letter received

2011-03-22(Day 164): Another text for card production! Start printing GC?

2011-03-23(Day 165): Text/email moving into post decision activity! Mail GC?

2011-03-26(Day 168): GC in hand and done for 3-10 years depending on the citizenship decision...Still unsure!

N400 - Dallas Lock box

2017-02-13(Day 1): Finally made the decision to apply for citizenship. Package went in mail

2017-02-16(Day 4): 1st NOA "went background checks are complete interview will be scheduled" no mention of Biometrics

2017-03-03(Day 15) Biometrics letter arrives scheduled for 2017-03-13 Might try a walk in earlier

wow,congrats!am sad for my green card..never heard about it since after my interview last nov.30..it sucks..hope everything is ok..

Congratulations!

Guys, all of you seem to have been through this process.

I want to ask you a question.

My friend is applying for his green card (through marriage) and at the moment filling out the forms needed.

For form I-485 where it says "List your present husband/wife and children"

does he have to list the names of his wife's children?

I have heard you should do that, and list them, and write for them step-son or step-daughter,

and where it asks you "Are they applying with you" to choose "No".

Is this true?

What is the best thing to do here?

My friend who is filing the petition I-485 actually does NOT have any kids? His wife (she is the American citizen) has 3 kids of which only her youngest one lives with them.

Should he list only the youngest one, and write his name and put "step-son", or should he write all 3 kids, or should he NOT list any of them at all?

What do you think?
