Timeline

HI everybody, I havent logged in a few days, my husband is here visiting me for the holidays.

We would like to know did anybody here do any name changes after receiving NOA1?????

Does anybody know when it would be the perfect time to change maiden name to married name in order

to receive visa and green card and all with married name??????? please advise me on any info you guys can share when it comes to name changes. thank you

Do so on DS-230... at NVC stage, this may or may not result in a green-card in married name, in order to ensure GC in married name the I-130 needed to be filed with married name, and no way to fix this at USCIS.

If Green-card arrives in maiden name after coming to USA, you will need to file an I-90 t get this changed, FEE $450 OR if this is a 2 year conditional card, then perhaps wait the 2 years until removal of conditions to get this corrected.

hi,

if she gets the new passport now just send a copy of the new biographic data to the NVC and they will change it to her married name. I scanned and emailed my wife new passport bio and they changed their information to reflect the married name.

The green card will be issued in the name on the passport so if it is changed by the NVC stage you should be fine. Good luck!
