When I returned from Bangkok, I brought her passport photos with me to file with the 129F. Now looking over the gov't's instructions I am not sure that they will work. She went to one of those photo labs in one of the shopping malls and they used Photo Shop to touch up the photo. It is almost black and white with very little color, has a white background and they used the software to show her in a business suit. If you look closely, you can see some fuzziness.

Are they very picky?

Yes they are. She's going to need official passport-regulation photos.

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

Hard to tell about those particular photos, with the modifications and all.

I can say the following though for sure. The photo's need to be 5x5 cm, frontal shot, white background, not obscured with hair and so forth.

If the photos prove to be unsatisfactory, they will send you a Request For Evidence (RFE) for new ones.

Until that happens, if it does, don't worry about it.

Photos need to be in color.

For as long as this process takes, you don't want to be delayed with an RFE about something questionable like this. You'll regret sending them if you wind up with an RFE and have to wait that much longer.

Ask her to get new photos done according to the link Kit provided while you work on the I-129F.

Has she completed her G-325s and written her letter of intent yet? If not, she could send you the new photos when she sends you the rest....

Edited to add: You have not filed yet? Well, take Jen's advice and get new photos ASAP.

My bad, thought you had already filed.

For others, that have already filed:

Some peculiar and irregular things do slide through.

I fully encourage everyone to follow the guides and advice here.

With that said, on occasion, mistakes do get overlooked.

Surmise that your case is good, until you get an RFE, if you get one at all.

Bottom line, don't worry about it.

My fiance sent me a photo that I felt was questionable as well. It was too washed out, and when printed the proper size was too grainy. To me it looked touched up, although no fake suit had been added.

I asked her to go back and get a new one, she emailed it the next day, and that photo printed beautifully and that is what I sent.

As others also advise, don't take a chance on an RFE. You can do it via email if she goes to get another one, and make sure she has the exact specifications to ask for. Mine had a heck of a time explaining to the photographer what she needed, but she had clear instructions from me and got what we needed.

Good luck on the journey!

Have her send you the jpeg image in an e-mail and you can print it.

Or, if you prefer, copy it to CD and take it to a photo finishing place.

Well... Can you see her "ears" on picture? It's another stuff ( I wonder why) they ask for it.

I know there was some kind of problems here, at Rio de Janeiro's Consulate, because some pictures didn't show their ears...

anyway... are you in doubt? Nobody gets in doubt without any reason... So if you felt that, just fix it as soon as you can!

Good vibes from Brazil!!!
