If I have learned one thing through this whole process i would have to say its been love. I thought that i knew what love was, but i had no idea that it was like this. I have had other relationships before this, but i know this is truly a ONE in a MILLION love. For me to go through this a try to be patient is so hard at times for me. I told my fiancee ever since i met him and going through this agonizing process I know in the end we will appreciate each other so much for enduring all this mental pain. I have also learned better communication we have had to communicate everyday getting to know each other so much more then i would have ever with any of my other relationships. I will be so happy when we all make it through this process i know our patience have been tested over and over again, and our sincerety towards others have been tested as well, but one thing i know is that we will all have our loved ones here with us sooner or later i just hope its sooner. I told my honey i think we need to write a book about all this FOREAL!!!!! Alot of people really take love for granted but this whole process has made me realize LOVE should never be taken for granted. Good luck to us all!!!!!

Your last sentence is what David and I have talked a great deal about...

Too many relationships fail because partners do wind up taking each other for granted. With all that we will have overcome in order to be together, we doubt that is ever a trap that will will fall into. Having both been married before, we also have a better understanding of who we each are, and what we need from a marriage relationship in order to be individually and collectively fulfilled. It was important for us to understand that before committing to each other in order to ensure that we do belong on the same path together.

I have never been more certain of anything in my life, and that's a pretty darn good feeling.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

You have officially proven that you are spending way to much time on VJ if you are dreaming about members. :P

Hi all. This whole process has made me trust in God's timing for things. Ashley and I have learned so much through all of this. While the distance stinks, it's helped us get to know each other and learn how to communicate. Think of people who have "regular dates" and time with each other. They might go quite a while without really knowing each other.

I'd also like to express my appreciation for the folks in these newsgroups. Forget about the information everyone provides, which is helpful. I'm talking about the encouragement/building each other up that goes on here. It's nice to know we're not lone wolves going through this mess. It's nice to "talk" to people about what we're all going through, rather than having to be alone in our missery.

One thing we learned was how important communication is. We learned just how deep our love for each other goes (distance will do that for ya) and how much we really wanted to be together and live out the rest of our lives together.

We also learned that the USCIS gives a new name to "slow as molasses in January".

If that love and trust that gets build up in a realationship which is on this journey (not to say on this horror trip) won´t hold, then I don´t know what could be a harder test to go through.

I have learned just how much more I love my fiancee each day, and how lucky I am to have found her. We both have rougth edges and quirks, but we compliment each other and will grow together to lift each other up. So all of this is mere childs play in comparison to the excitement we have to live out our lives together and all of the triumphs and failures we will have along the way.

While it's frustrating for me not knowing what is going on (as in the feeling robbed and violated feeling of frustration), it is all still ultimatly worth it.
