its not a good idea to book a flight before her interview...

Some consular tell you that you were approved but still they will

request some additional documents specially if the documents that they have are soon to expired

that time you need to wait another week because they will review it

thats what happen to me

after i submit documents that they need I wait 2 weeks for my visa

by the way I'm from marikina only...

i submit my documents NOV. 8 and submit my PAssport NOV. 16 they realease my VIsa NOv. 23

check AIR21 nov. 24 still not in their system

NOv. 25 received my VISA

Not a good idea. Book the tickets when she has the VISA in her hand.

No idea what might happen, power outage at embassy, air21 truck crashes/gets hijacked, typhoon, flood, her passport falls unseen behind a desk at the embassy, who knows? Of course, they may also ask her to come back with additional documentation and not even approve her on the day of the interview (god forbid). Has she attended the CFO seminar? Remember, she needs the CFO stamp prior to being allowed to leave the country. Does she have her CENOMAR (CEMAR) for the interview?

It is the standard recommendation of the embassy/consulate not to buy tickets or make travel plans until the beneficiary has the visa in hand.

Hi G & G,

I don't know anything about this CFO seminar, could you give me some details please?

Thanks!

+1  Be sure to have the seminar completed and the stamp attached to the passport prior to trying to depart the country. You'll be stopped at the airport before boarding your flight otherwise.

The IDS(immigrant data summary) is actually on the outside of the VISA packet you'll receive from the embassy. Just make a photocopy and bring it with you to the seminar/CFO along with the other required documents.

I want an idea of about how long it takes to get your visa in the mail after the interview. Please post with your

interview date, the date your visa arrived in the mail, the city the visa was sent to, and if there were any complications delaying

the visa right after the interview (missing documents etc.)

My wife has an interview on December 13th and I am booking tickets for the 22nd. I have heard it takes 3 to 7 days to get the visa by

Air21, and we are just in Quezon City. What do you guys thing about my specific case as well?

Thank you very much I am sure this info will be helpful to others as well.

Take a look at the Embassy Calendar , its december, lots of days off for staff, I would not book ticket until VISA in hand. Or buy more expensive refundable ticket. That way if you have to change it.. its no money loss

Hey I thought I would update you with this.. USEM in Manila uses 2GO company for delivery of visa. Also, I talked to their customer service over the phone the other day (Dec 1st) and they told me that my wife would have her visa in 3 days after she was to get approved. ALSO according to the website the fee to deliver is included in the IV fee.(i will double check with embassy on monday, dec 6th.) I asked the 2GO company about Air21, and they told me that they no longer do the delivery of the visa or passport

I'm not referring to a Packet 3/4 etc. I mean the package that the VISA comes in once you receive it. It will have documents with or attached to it. One of these documents it the IDS or Immigrant Data summary. The IDS is required to get the CFO stamp.
