HI Mkl..thanks for responding but she haven't got any package from HK..so she need to wait for that right? Well I was asking if she need to contact the Embassy or just wait..maybe she just need to wait..actually she is working in Macau but she will be interview in HK...

Whats the use of case number that they gave that start with the letter HKN and 10 digit number.

Hi there.

Did a quick browse on the US Embassy in HK website and found this gem:

What can I expect from the application process? Please see the section entitled "Applying for an Immigrant Visa" for details of the application process. Once the visa petition is approved by USCIS, it will be sent to the National Visa Center (NVC) in New Hampshire for additional processing. If your fiancée is resident in Hong Kong or Macau, the petition will then be forwarded to the U.S. Consulate General in Hong Kong. Once you have been notified that the visa petition has been forwarded to Hong Kong, you may wish to begin collecting thedocuments required for the visa interview process, as certain documents may take a while to obtain. Applicants born in the Philippines or carrying passports issued by the Government of the Philippines should carefully review this checklist. (PDF file)*

Here's the checklist they were talking about: http://travel.state.gov/pdf/pk3_supplements/HNK-PK3-MULT-0004-0901.pdf

Hope it helps.

We are on a similar track to you. My wife is a Hong Kong resident and where the case is being processed though she currently lives in Taiwan. Our lawyers made a costly mistake that delayed our application nearly two months by submitting the case to Taiwan and telling us that changing it to the Hong Kong consulate would be easy and fast...they were wrong. Well, once my wife and I got involved and contacted the consulate and provided the information they needed to move the case forward, things are moving quickly now.

We have found that the Hong Kong consulate is very responsive to emails using their online form.

http://hongkong.usconsulate.gov/visa_inquiry_form.html

On November 29, our expedite request was approved and we are awaiting our package (from NVC) via DHL to arrive in Hong Kong, which we expect any day now.

Nov. 2008 Found each other on Face Book through a mutual friend and fell hopelessly in love, but she was living in Taiwan for past 3 years. Spent next year accumulating 130,000 air miles to be with my fiancee.

Oct. 14, 2010 NVC received AOS and expect a response around second week of December.

I just looked at your timeline...can't believe you've gone more than twice as fast as us! We began Dec 2009 and utilized a lawyer! When I talked to the NVC in mid November, they told me they hadn't yet begun scheduling interviews for December in Hong Kong, so I would imagine that it shouldn't take much longer for her to get the interview. We are in close contact with the Hong Kong consulate, doing weekly status checks to make sure everything is on track.

How long did it take for the NVC to send the DHL package to Hong Kong for you? And how long was it to the next step?

Richard

According to many members of VJ says K1 process is more faster than IR1/CR1 Visa. I was not aware of how long really takes to finish this process and I don't really even know before how to start for 129f just until i found this website really a big helps..

Our petition approved Nov. 5 USCIS i did not receive any RFE..it was good.

We received the notice from NVC dated Nov. 17 2010 it says they forwarded our case already at US COnsulate in HK..then I sent an inquiry just to ask if they got our case..I gave them our case number that was assigned from NVC then after 2 days they responded yes they got our case..so not sure when is the exact date they received our packet but its less than a week or just 3-4 days.

Well my fiancee just received the packet 3 today saturday DEc 4, 2010 in HK. She need to fill out some forms and send back to Immigrant Visa Unit once she obtain all the document..so they can schedule the interview for her as well as the medical not sure how long it will takes..we will wait...I am hoping her interview will goes well so she can be here I expect her to have her interview by January...if everything ok..
