Waiting for Biometrics Letter

I sent my N-400 on November 4, 2010. Letter received at Arizona Lockbox, Phoenix, AZ on November 8, 2010. Received email notification on November 9 that application had been received. NOA issued November 9, mailed out November 12 and received November 16.

No updates have been made to my case status online, no more notifications. After looking at people's timelines for N-400 it seems as if many receive their Biometrics letter very quickly (maybe within a week). Anyone have any thoughts if the two weeks since they received my application seems "normal?" I am assuming that I cannot inquire about this until 30 days have passed? If anyone has any input, let me know.

Thanks for the information! I guess I just have to be patient. Like everyone else I just want things to move along. Maybe USCIS also gets "backed up" when there are holidays, like Veterans Day and Thanksgiving.

For my wife, sent application to Nebraska, two days later, they cashed our check.

For my stepdaughter, sent the application to that Phoenix Lockbox, ten days ago, still haven't cashed our check yet. Been constant shifting of where to send applications since dealing with the USCIS for the last seven years. They must pick the locations based on the slowest response times. But as long as my stepdaughter gets her US citizenship by next July, she will be fine.

St. Paul still hasn't adopted the same day oath, with biometrics, interview, and oath ceremony, will be another 1,350 miles of driving.

Have checked my application online since it was entered and still no biometric appointment. Just called the USCIS customer service number (which really isn't much of customer service ;) and they said that I had to wait until the 9th of December before I could inquire about my application. I thought it was actually 30 days and not 30 days + when you could inquire. Not sure what might be going on as it seems as if the November filers are getting their fingerprint appointments. Has anyone read or heard that USCIS is back up right now after the fee increase? Getting a bit impatient as people who filed after me seems to already have got their appointment notices.

Beginning to wonder about my stepdaughters application, nothing yet, but only has been 23 days, was the same with my wife with St. Paul, then suddenly bang, biometrics letter came in and shortly after her interview letter where she was one in three months and 17 days. But was in March when things are slow, lots of holidays going on, and who knows how many applications came in. I never go to my bank on a Friday evening when most people get their paychecks with long lines, have the bank all to myself early on Monday morning. No indicators I know of with the USCIS. But my stepdaughter dragged her feet in filling out two parts on her application, she could have been done by now.
