Can anyone PLEASE tell me that I am correct that on Form I-864A, part 2 line 13 - where it reads I, THE SPONSOR, would be my Brother-in-Law (as he is the co-sponsor)therefore signing on line 14... and then on Part 3 line 15 is where his wife(the household member) would put her name and she would then sign on line 16.... I read somewhere and I believe that the petitioner was confused, that I as the spouse(petitioner) would sign. I have filled out my OWN I-864 and of course signed that form. My Brother-in-Law has filled out I-864 on his own as he is our co-sponsor....

From what i understand the i-864a constitutes a contract between the primary sponsor and the household members. Part 2 is for the primary sponsor and part 3 is for the household member.

Yes,

However,

Since the household member is not my household member (as I am in Turkey)then line 14 wouldn't be signed by ME... it would be signed by the joint sponsor which is my Brother-in-law... and the household member(his wife and MY Sister) would sign line 16.... can anyone please verify this???????

who is the petitioner? who is the joint sponsor? they leave in same house & related to each other?

I am here in Turkey with spouse (beneficiary) as I am the US petitioner.... My Brother-in-Law is acting as co/joint sponsor and has completed the I-864. His wife (my Sister) has completed an I-864A as she has income as well. I HAVE ALSO OF COURSE COMPLETED AN I-864 TOO.... I just want to know if on the I-864A, "THE CONTRACT BETWEEN SPONSOR AND HOUSEHOLD MEMBER", on line 13 the sponsor which is MY Brother-in-law printed his name AND on line 14 he signed...AND on line 15... my SISTER (the household member of the sponsor being my Brother-in-law) printed her name and then she signed on line 16....

Therefore on MY I-864 I am the only person that signs on this and not on the I-864 that my Brother-in-law has completed....

Others have told me that this is wrong that I sign on line 14 of the form I-864 that my Brother-in-law has completed...... why would I do that? He is the acting co/joint sponsor and she is his household member For Pete's sake!

:bonk: I want to be 150% ++++++++ sure that I am right..... HELP!

We didn't have a co-sponsor so I am not 150% sure on this :P

But I think you are correct- only you sign your I-864, only your brother-in-law signs the I-864 he fills out, and both your brother-in-law and your sister signs the I-864A she fills out.
