How long should it take to get the biometrics appointment? Mine still hasn't arrived and I'm starting to wonder...

ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS JOURNEY

2009- Marriage to USC and Medical exam completed

10/16/2010- AOS Package Sent to Lockbox (I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131) DAY 0--Let the waiting begin!!

10/18/2010- AOS Package delivered to Lockbox at 11:15 am DAY 2

10/22/2010- Return receipt confirmation from USPS DAY 6

10/25/2010- Received e-mail and text message confirmation of receipt and transfer to National Benefits Center DAY 9

10/27/2010- Received 4 hard copy NOAs (I-797C) for various petitions via USPS. Recieved date: 10/18. Notice date: 10/25. DAY 11

11/12/2010- Called USCIS to ask why I hadn't been sent biometrics notice yet. Totally unhelpful customer service rep told me to keep waiting. DAY 27

12/13/10- Received biometrics appointment notice, dated 12/3/10. Appointment date 12/27 (who schedules an appointment like that so close to Christmas?!?!) DAY 58

12/14/10- Successful biometrics walk in! DAY 59

12/21/10- E-mail notice that EAD and AP are approved! DAY 66

1/1/11- EAD and AP paperwork in hand DAY 77

1/11/11- Interview letter arrived in today's mail! Scheduled for February. DAY 87

2/14/11- Interview Day: Approved! DAY 121

2/22/11- Welcome to the United States letter in mail. DAY 128

Next step: Removal of Conditions in 2012

Heyy!!

I believe everyone is different …

Took mine 60 days … (Trust me i waited and waited) SUCKS!

I know some people waited over 90 days … and some got it within a month !! :unsure:

Hi RayeRaye,

from what I have learned in these forums - immigration applications, especially AOS needs a lot of patience and not understanding the process of administration.

From what I see in my time-line compared to others, at times I match closely with others, at times they are a step ahead of me or sometiems I received something they didn't.

It all depends on the people working on your case, how much time they spent on it before it goes back in the "to-do" section of their workplace. Unfortunately it seems that just because your application was assigned to an employee doesn't mean that your case is worked on until it is approved, rather just in part checked and administrated here and there.

As far as biometrics goes - I strongly believe it depends on the workload at your local service center and when they are able to see you for an appointment.

Yes, people have done walk-ins, showing it is possible to have an earlier opportunity, but if you go with their flow and have guaranteed attention towards your petitions it'll be worth the wait.

Still waiting for the day myself to get my fingers printed.

10/13/2010 - Mailed in The Package (AOS, I-765, I-130)

10/17/2010 - USPS confirms delivery to USCIS

10/25/2010 - Check cashed

10/26/2010 - All applications been worked on aka touched

10/28/2010 - NOA1 Receipts for applications received

11/24/2010 - Received appointment for biometrics in the mail for 12/17 *yay*

12/17/2010 - 9.25 a.m. - 9.45 a.m. Biometrics done !!

12/23/2010 - EAD Approved and Card on its way - Email notification received *yay*

01/03/2011 - WOOOHOOO ...EAD Card in Hand!

01/04/2011 - Oh boy....Received Interview Letter today - February 3rd is the day! :)

02/03/2011 - Interview scheduled 12:45 p.m. - out of there before 1:30 p.m. - further review

Coming home, checking for touches at 5:30 p.m. - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED !!!!

02/09/2011 - Yup another e-mail saying that my card production was ordered.

02/10/2011 - E-mail notification "Approval letter was sent today"

02/14/2011 - Welcome Letter / Approval NOA and Card (separate envelope) received!!! :D

Late November 2012 (have to look up my receipts ;) - mailed in ROC I-751

12/12/2012 - NOA 1, status extension received

12/18/2012 - Biometrics appointment letter received

01/08/2013 - Biometrics done

I do agree with you Maxximus. The work load of the local field office is the main key to having your biometrics captured in a timely fashion. Just wait patiently and hopefully it will show up.

As far as the walkins. Your biometrics can not be taken unless you have an appointment letter. Once you get it, you can try to save sometime by walking in at an earlier date and try to have them work you in. I did it myself. They gave me a little bit of a talk but they agreed in the end. Once you get your letter, try that. It might save you some of the time you wasted waiting for the appointment!
