Quick Question Regarding Military Certificate

Hello Friends

Is it necessary to send the Military Certificate, which states that i have not served and i am temporarily exempted from Military Service, or i should only send it in case i have served already ?

Oh by the way there is another question regarding the Photographs

The size is 2 by 2 inches, but the ones i got are kind of different so i have edited them to make them 2 by 2, if i printed them with a color printer on a glossy photograph paper, then cropped them, would that be alright ?

As long as they match the required size you should be ok, I dont see why not. Im sure Ive heard of that being done before.

If you're not required to do military service, I would be surprised if you need a certificate though.

If you have served Id send it. I sent my police reports from a few years ago, they were 'clean' Ive added them for no other reason than it shows Ive been a good boy!

If you were exempt from the military you definitely need to send in the exemption form and also the translation.

Better be safe than sorry because it may cause you to get a RFE.

As for the 2X2 photos, you can go to the website and follow the instructions for printing out the photographs they ask for. My husband went to where ever they do the passport size photographs and specifically asked for the 2X2 that the US requests and got about 20 of them! So we had plenty to send in.

I am temporarily exempted and i have this certificate translated already but after doing some reading i found this information

Who needs to submit military records?

If you served in the military forces of any country, you must obtain a copy of your military record.

If it was a requirement they would've said:

you have to submit a military record showing if you served, exempted, etc, am i right or wrong?

cause if it's not required i would rather not to send it.

I agree Samoray, if you needed it, the statement would be far more specific.

I assume I am exempt from performing open heart surgery. I have no medical qualifications, hate the sight of blood and dont think Im required to provide a letter from the National health Service in the UK stating that Ive never been a heart surgeon

Photos are fine.

Military record - I am not sure you need to provide the exemption letter. NVC site is generic one and as per NVC it is not needed if you haven't served in the military. However, it is a good idea to check with the Consulate. Sometimes local consulate ensures much finer detail than NVC.

A good color printer on photo paper is perfectly fine....most shops take the photos with a digital camera and crop/edit them on the screen in front of you (in the US CVS, Walgreens, etc.). My wife scanned her first phota and emailed it to me in a bmp file (for clarity and pixel count). I have used it several times.

I have the digital version of it too, i printed them, they look so fine, actually even better than the ones i got from the professional shop
