I have filed for a I-129F. I know I am probably worrying about the I-134 WAY in advance but want all my ducks in a row. I would like to plan on being with my fiance' when he goes for his interview if possible and will come with what documents that may be needed.

About me I work with developmentally disabled adults for a ARC in New York State. I have worked here since 8Dec2003. I work as a fulltime substitute, which essentially means I am scheduled to work every day Mon-Fri. I dropped from Fulltime with benefits to substitute when I planned my first trip to Norway in February 2007 so that I would not have to be retrained when I returned. I am allowed to go to Norway for 90 days then have to be here in the US for 90 days. I have been to Norway 8 times since I met my boyfriend now fiance - most generally for 3 month visits at a time.

BECAUSE about half the year I am in Norway and not here earning I would think it be important to show I do have a full time job if I was not spending half my time from work. I am planning on bringing with me on my employers letterhead - what I would/could earn per week (wage per hour X 32 hour minimum work week - I can work more than just the 32 hours and generally do) and a statement that I work when I am in the US. Do you think this would be sufficient?

I know that I could not make that minimum poverty level limit for 2 people on my own. Can any of the below also be counted towards support?

I own my own home free and clear (my daughter is currently living in it with her boyfriend/children while I live with my parents nextdoor) and plan on bringing a copy of the assessment of worth which is a measly $15,000.

I have a historical genealogical book collection which has been assessed and is worth $6,000 minimum.

I own my own car.

Through my work I have a pension plan.

My fiance' receives a permanent disabiltiy pension per month (abt $1,800 per month) that alone without out my money he is over the poverty level for 2 people AND we do know is transferable to here in the US though a agreement between the US & Norway.

Am I worrying over nothing? I thought I read that they take what he and I would make together into consideration?

Thank you for any responses or thoughts that may be offered - hoping I am worrying over nothing but would rather be over prepared than not at all.

To establish the value of your home you would need a recent valuation done by a licensed appraiser. The tax assessement will not be enough.

For the book collection you would also need a recent valuation done by a professional.

Your primary vehicle cannot be used as an asset.

Your current and ongoing income is what matters. Recent paystubs and employer letter will help to demonstrate the income claim. A promise of future employment is typically not accepted.

Your fiance may be able to self sponsor based on what you've stated regarding his pension. I would connect the dots for the CO on the transferability. Provide as much you can about the agreement, etc.

I agree with Ahn map.

When I applied; I had not yet bought our house, I did not use a vehicle as an asset, and my book collection is worth its weight in recycled paper. :D It was all about income and savings.

You'll need a statement from both your employer and your bank. Make sure to include the required information. Most likely, additional information will not be considered (I don't know that, I'm guessing based on my experience with government agencies).

The reasoning behind it is to insure that people coming to the U.S. as a spouse will not be applying for welfare, etc.
