is anybody knows if is it possible to request to expedite the k1 processing? i've seen on the igor's list that a couple request to expedite their processing and it took only 2mos for them to got approved since their noa 1.. i just thought that it could give hope to everyone of us waiting..thanks

If the USC is being deployed to the front lines, then an expedite is possible. These cases are usually what you are looking at.

Yes yes this is quoted from the USCIS but.........can you list one of each that you know were expedited for these reasons?

99.99% of the time, except for the military being deployed, there is no expedite.

I won't hurt to request it just don't get your hopes up.

Yes, of course. I didnt necessarily quote that from the uscis - its from cases that I know of that are current and have been approved.

My case. It was expedited at USCIS level for starters - an when the service request was taken, we were offered a bunch of options which fitted the uscis criteria.

I also know of SEVERAL other cases at LEAST which did not involve military deployment.

Incidentally you are not limited to fit one of the uscis criteria.

Your expedite was not for a K-1. The type of visa being petitioned for will also factor into the chances.

I was under the impression that it is treated equally - K1 / CR1 according to the USCIS and expedite criteria it is.

Hey good morn to you.

I'd like to know.. do you thihk it is possible to get an approved expedite request for a child who is 14 y/o? The mom/dad was approved however the child will be overseas. There will be no one else there to stay with the child and so the parents will have to stay overseas until the process is completed and would put them out of status.

Thank you.

No, this would be considered poor planning on the parents part.

LM@O poor planning you say..? that's not correct.. YOU MUST be knowledgeable of the situation first. Mother/Father were approved in the Category IR-5 (parents of USC). Therefore.. any children they have unfortunately cannot be listed to benefit from the petition filed regardless of age You'll know this after you have done some research.

Lawyers/Senators were engaged however they were unable to help because of the Visa Category and strick immigration laws.

that is NOT possible, its not their concern @ricardo4eva2.it happens with k-1 cases everyday( meaning its not uncommon in the immigration cases ),the parent moves to the states and then files for k-2,the arrangements made is none of USCIS's concern.

More Appropriate.. that's Kool.. They will go back home for 6 months anyhow.. by then the petition would have been filed for 5-6 months.. I was just asking .. it's not crucial.

I'll have to agree with ATPEACE. Poor family planning. and YES this is kind of personal, my reply to this post. I also find it "a JOKE" that you wouldn't want to be away from your kid yet have the courage to mock other people's situation having to give birth without her partner. Just my two cents. =)
