We are assembling the AOS packet for my wife. She is currently here on a H1B; I'm a U.S. citizen, born in the U.S. We are unsure of just how we should respond to the initial question on I-765, "I am applying for..."

She is a university professor, and her H1B replaced her EAD when she finished grad school and started work. We were married about one year after she had started work. My question is, how should we answer the question regarding the purpose of her application?

Is it..

-Permission to accept employment, OR

-Renewal of my permission to accept employment

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

** moved from "AOS (Other)" to "Working & Traveling to Immigration" as this is relating to an EAD **
