I-134 - Good Income but Lots of Debt

How important is the asset question on the I-134 form? After my divorce I was saddled with lots of debt (+$250K), most in default now partly due to economic downturn. Can't go bankrupt to get debt relief due to how court judgment was structured. I do have a good job (+$100K/yr.) and cash stashed (~$50K). But I can't have a bank account or publicly show assets in my name due to creditors. I am slowly getting things paid off, but that is years in the future.

So, will the I-134 be a death knell to my hopes?

From what you say your income far exceeds the requirement. No need to list assets. Debts are not part of the equation.
