Your timeline and mine are almost 100% similar. I haven't received my IIN either. Yet. Hopefully by this Friday night, we'll get it. My wife also received the started automated reponse from NVC that they received her email.

OK guys and gals from Gujarat. I just spoke with a nice lady from NVC and she told me the following regarding the Passport office clearance:

NVC doesn't require a passport office clearance. They understand that passport office in Gujarat require an interview letter or a checklist.

My question to her after she said this was: Doesnt that mean I have to submit the PCC needs to NVC to get an interview date.

Her answer: No, the checklist will be sent with a letter A next to it which means that it can be taken to the interview.

My next question: Do i need to write a letter explaning why i am not including a passport PCC?

Her answer: NO nothing is needed and we completely understand the requirements for people from India. Just go ahead and send in your package.

Experts: should i just send in my DS230 package with a letter just in case? Please advise.

Actually guys, what's weird is that I *do* have the IIN - they sent it to me via email, as pasted below. But I have not received the email package and when I sign in, I am successful but both payment status are "NOT INVOICED" This is what is worrying me...

I understood your situation. Since your NVC Case# was on 10/14, it will take 1 or 2 days (may be tonight) to become the invoice ready to pay. The above email is provided by your request and it is not the auto generated when the invoice is actually ready.

I am submitting the local police clearance even though it is not required for her. She just got her name on her passport last month so basically has a new passport.

Yes, that is a very valid point, if you have received a promotion after filing the I-130. Company will give the letter of employment only with the current title.

Also, should the occupation in the 1040 match the title in these forms ? My occupation in the 1040 is more generic as filed by my accountant (ex: Computer specialist) and of course my title is different. Not sure if this will be an issue. I guess this problem doesn't arise if you just submit the IRS tax transcripts for all the 3 years where I don't see a title being mentioned.

Loto, Have you submitted the tax returns for the last year along with the tax transcripts for the previous 3 years or you have given just the tax transcripts for all 3 years ?

It is recommended to keep the same title in all forms same like in the employment letter. But what will happen to the promotion (of course with new title) after filing I-130?

I submitted only bare min. docs - last 3 years tax transcripts, employment letter, paystubs and my passport biographic page with AOS package.

1040 title, employment letter title, I-130 title etc. are all ok as long as the field of work is same and recognized that the title in the same field. Key here is consistent income and upward trend progressively is very good financially and poverty line comparison too.

All look good. I wrote wife's full name, DOB and NVC Case# back side of both photos with black ink pen. Blue ink is also good. Don't press hard. Otherwise the bumps will show up on the front side of the photos.

Also, I grouped originals together and photocopies separately with binder clips.
