I know the meaning of shotgun wedding. My understanding is that it is not a good weeding. More like "forcing wedding"? That is why I asked. Maybe the OP has a different meaning for it. A meaning not familiar to me. I doubt some one is forcing them to get married but love :)

Riding shotgun, riding in the seat next to the driver, comes from the times when stagecoaches had two men on the seat: the one who drove the horses, and the one who carried the shotgun to fend off any would be bandits. Though, depending on how your mind works, you could also say that "riding a shotgun" could easily result in a "shotgun wedding".

Yes, i was thinking along the lines of the latter explanation. :devil:
