I tried to look this up here but to no avail. When do I have to pay the fees

The one I am most concerned with is for filing Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status.

Is this done when the fiancee is in the USA? Can she work before or only after this is done?

I am also seeing a lot of fees for waive-able forms. I am needing her to work to cover the losses to some of the prices of these fees after she arrives and is eligible.

I guess some sort of timeline on due dates and whether the fees have to be paid in what order and from where would be extremely helpful.

If I am not mistaken she comes after the K1 is approved but cannot work until we file the adjustment of status. We want to try to give ourselves as much time while she is here before getting married and wait the 90 days. Will this affect her ability to work? Should we jump in and tie the knot the same day she arrives so she can work and we can stay afloat?

You file AOS when shes there and married. AOS is 1010$ It includes EAD and AP as long as you file them with the AOS ( in the same package ) EAD lets her work before the green card is issued.

She cannot work at all unless she has the EAD or green card.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thanks Inky!

Your timeline looks similar to what I am trying to do. It sounds like the fees are staggered enough we can work it out. I was just hoping they would not all hit at the same time and then I need to be the 700$ plane ticket.

when we did it I payed for my medical and my visa stamp/interview thing. I took some extra work shifts to be able to pay it, then when I got here we both payed half the AOS after our marriage (505$ each) that really helped us with the costs of the forms instead of one person having the full burdon. We did end up eating ramen for a few weeks tho after AOS was done to try and save some more money lol.
