Hi! :)

I reside in Australia and am a citizen but was born in the UK. I have both Aussie and British passports. All my prior US VISA's which have included J-1's and my B1/B2 are in my British passport (because it was cheaper :). Would there be a problem with me using my British passport for my K1? I will attending my interview in Australia. If I use my British passport does that mean I will need police clearance from the UK also?

Or would you recommend I just apply on my Aussie passport?

Reading about this K1 stuff has made me super paranoid and super analytical about everything.

Thanks for the help :) VJ has been amazing!

I don't think it matters, plus they will end up deciding what to put on the visa anyways :)

I am born a Swiss citizen, but lived in Ireland most of my life and am an Irish citizen by naturalisation. I applied with my Irish passport as I applied in Ireland and Swiss passport was expired, but when they issued the visa, it says I am a Swiss citizen and my Irish citizenship is not mentioned at all.

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Just be aware that Sydney consulate are quite strict on certain things. The police report has to be done from hwere you have lived in the last 5 years if i remember correctly. But hey 2 would not hurt. trust me the more info you have for them the better. Am not sure of the passport issue hopeing someone else can advise you on that one. Good luck

Thanks for your input :)

I decided to just apply using 'Australian' as my citizenship since I am applying here in Oz.

The last I lived in the UK was when I was a teen so I'm guessing I won't have a problem with the police check.

What part of "teen" did you move from the UK? The police certificates are applicable to every country that you have lived in from the age of 16 for 6 months or more - not just where you have lived in the last 5 years (so I found out the hard way from the Sydney consultate lol).

Hope it all goes smoothly for you :D
