We’re supposed to depend upon God for our protection and our provision and for our daily bread, not for our government. And you’ve just identified the real crux of the problem.

Actually, half of the people in this country don't make enough money to exceed the standard deduction and exemptions, because they're poor. They still pay 7.65% of every dollar earned into FICA, and they still pay sales taxes, and excise taxes on their gasoline and utility bills, but they don't have enough income to trigger payment of the income tax. Thats about in line with what Huckabee said during the campaign last year. Something to the effect that America needs to be more in line with the christian beliefs, that it was easier to change the constitution than it is to change the ten commandments.
