I hope your biometrics letter is indeed on its way! How did you manage to talk to a 2nd tier support?

Well, this is the 3rd or 4th time I've called, since our case numbers are still not showing up on the website, even though our NOA is dated August 20. Normally, I have to go through a whole line of questioning with 1st tier support before being escalated, but today, I just said "I've called a few times, and normally the 1st tier support can't find my info, so I have to be escalated to 2nd tier". She asked for the receipt number, confirmed that it was valid, and escalated the call. Wait times were VERY short (like, less than a minute for each tier).

Interestingly, I didn't get asked the normal questions about whether or not I'm a lawyer, representative from a non-profit group, etc. I guess that part of the script is optional...

06/18/10 Married

08/12/10 - Day 0 - Mailed I-130, I-485, I-765 (USPS Express Mail)

08/13/10 - Day 1 - Delivery Confirmation at USCIS Chicago Lockbox

08/20/10 - Day 8 - Electronic (E-mail/SMS) confirmation of acceptance/NOA issued for I-130, I-485, I-765

10/09/10 - Day 58 - EAD (I-765) case visible online, others still not showing up.

10/21/10 - Day 70 - Spoke to 2nd-tier support, got a "referral" opened on the biometrics appointment (as in, why isn't there one yet?)

10/29/10 - Day 78 - Biometrics appt letter received (scheduled for November 18 in Alexandria)

11/04/10 - Day 84 - Successful Walk-In Biometrics at Alexandria, VA

11/04/10 - Day 84 - Email/SMS notice of "Card Production Ordered"

11/09/10 - Day 89 - Email/SMS notice of "Card Production Ordered" (same text, same everything, just a second notice)

11/12/10 - Day 92 - Email/SMS notice of "EAD Approved"

11/12/10 - Day 92 - Received EAD card in mail (same day as notification of approval, no other snail mail notices)

12/07/10 - Day 117 - AOS Interview letter received (scheduled for January 10, 2011)

01/10/11 - Day 153 - AOS Interview complete - verbally approved, but we're not believing it until the card shows up.

01/14/11 - Day 157 - Electronic (E-mail/SMS) notification of approval of I-485

01/15/11 - Day 158 - Received notice of I-485 approval in mail

01/18/11 - Day 161 - Received Green Card in mail!

I just spoke to the congressman office to see if they received my paperwork and they advised they have already contacted USCIS and to call them back in a week if they don't call me beforehand..

On my letter of offer I was due to start work today.. I desperately need to accept this role and worried the company will not wait any longer.

Fingers crossed.. Does anyone know normally if the personnel at the congressman's office does make an impact when roughly I could get some movement or approval on the EAD? Does it take weeks, days?

Im not sure about the impact they have in USCIS, but I work in Social Security and when it has a congressman conversation it gets expedite! so I guess it may work similar....

From what I have seen here, it can happen fairly quickly, as quickly as the next business day. BUT the issue with your case is that you have not received the Bio letter, so I would say about a week or week and a half - just my guess...as it takes about 4-5 days to receive the bio letter, from the date they issue it. Then one or 2 days for post bio and then EAD will be issues in about 4 - 5 days.

Sorry, this probably doesn't help but perhaps you can negotiate with the company so they can understand the limitations.

From what I've read here about other members' experiences, it seems that when a Congressman's office makes an inquiry about a case, they get an answer pretty fast, say a week or so.

I'm in the same situation although my job offer does not expire today.

Fingers crossed for us all.

Since you filed 10 days before me, I should presume (depending on your local office), you would get your interview letter in the next week, positively. IIRC, you are adjusting from a non-immigrant visa too?

Strange as it may sound, my AOS and I-130 cases are not online on uscis.gov yet, and hence I have no clue about the touches they went through! But by keeping stats, I had expected my interview letter to come in 45-50 days from filing.

My local USCIS office is Chicago. You should hope to receive your letter in the coming week or so, if you haven't had any RFEs yet. Good luck.

Thanks. :D Maybe that is the reason why you got your interview letter right away. My local USCIS office is New York City, and from what I'm hearing... its kinda slow because of the volume of applications they receive.

I hope your right, hopefully i'll receive it next week.

I dont have any RFEs
